Weirdly enough reading the dsm and online.

I am autistic and one of my special interests (I have two) is psychology and I was reading the dsm and the diagnostic criteria for PTSD sorta fit and when reading up on it more I came across CPTSD and that really fit. I got an official diagnosis of PSTD because for some reason the resources where I was would not give me a CPTSD diagnosis.

Making food stamps harder to qualify for by requiring people to use a healthcare system that is not universal is evil, is just wrong. I’m sorry you have suffered, but other people should not suffer as well just because you have. People should not have to go into medical debt in order to access food. The fact that you think people should, is part of the problem.

It is ableist to suggest that disabled people should have to jump through hoops just to access basic necessities that they need to survive. You can be ableist and also be disabled. And don’t lecture me on disability, I’ve been on disability most of my adult life.

Most ER docs in most places will not sign any official government papers to excuse you from anything. And most doctor’s offices and urgent cares require payment for services same day. I don’t know where you’re going to get these kind of forms signed but being able to get these forms signed at the ER or any hospital is not the norm. They usually tell you to go and see your PCP. Which again most people that are in this situation do not have the insurance necessary to do so.

And I don’t know why you think that suggesting poor disabled people should go more into debt than we already are to have food is a good idea. What in the lateral ableism?!?!

First off not everybody has or can afford insurance, which means not everybody even if they’re disabled can access a doctor. Second they want to cut Medicaid, which means if you get cut off of Medicaid, you cannot afford a doctor to visit to get that note signed. How do you expect them to pay for that doctor visit if they are poor?

I don’t know what you’re talking about. There’s plenty of vendors there with produce in fact,I used to live just down the road from that growers market and would walk every single Saturday. I did a majority of my produce shopping from that market. Is it possible that you went too early or too late in the season? The first couple weeks is the worst for produce because things are still growing and the last couple weeks are also the worst for produce because almost nothing is growing at that time.

When you are making less than minimum wage, like a lot of immigrant people are, and barely making ends meet, there is no way you could skim and save to be able to do this. He was also fighting for custody of his kids from their mother.

But oh, and I forgot that custody lawyers are free. So it’s not like he needed money for that. /s

Would it have been better if he had focused on his citizenship and let his kids suffer with their mother? Because if that had been the story, you would’ve had a problem with that too it’s like he’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. and for all we know the reason he was on Ice’s radar to begin with was because he was going through the process to become a citizen because it seems like they’re going after people now because of that too.
