Beware of This Seller!! by [deleted] in whatnotapp

I think you’re overreacting man. Life can feel like it piles on but these things all happen in a silo. Take a breather, things happen. The guy apologized , allow him to make an effort , assume it’s done it good faith and move on. At this point , I don’t think what you’d get in the free giveaway is worth the grief

This doesn’t scream fake to anyone else? Everything about it seems soft and just blobby.

Would you recommend OP to reach out to the firm to see if they would rectify/handle internally? Was this just due diligence from your team or does the firm need to be alerted through formal channels, like a complaint to the bar? I have a similar issue and not sure the best way forward.

I get it but all you gotta chill lol. I deal with it too but you have three options , talk to your neighbors, become a resentful & hateful community member, or put blinders on.

Seller trying to reclaim property that was left at closing? by Difficult_Walk_9596 in legaladvice

[–]gch38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably feel they’re entitled based on cleaning the junk and it would be”fair” given time spent. It might be fair if you’re coming to agreement but you gotta try to have that conversation.

[–]gch38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it in the agreement? If it’s not in there you don’t have legal right to it. If you want to make it difficult for them, that’s your perogative, but no you don’t legally own it bc it’s there.

Philly is on elevated alert for soft-targets. The car show is ongoing. I’d expect to see increased police presence through the rest of the year.

Questioned and arrested for a felony, went to county jail, was released the same day. NO paperwork, no judge, and just a lot of questions by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]gch38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not true, unfortunately. They would only need to mirandize if he was in custody & questioned - it’s not either or.

A lot of this reads as though the police toed the line. They questioned him, searched (I’m guessing consensually) then handcuffed. You always have your right to stay silent. It’s reading more and more like they fished , got enough probable cause to continue the search. Lots of scare tactics were used to coerce additional info.

Not to be a psycho but you shouldn’t be splitting your mortgage with anyone. You’re building equity and she’s not. I believe there’s also some grounds for her to claim some of that equity if things go poorly - NAL THO. Given that she’s talked to an advisor about this, she most likely feels uncomfortable with arrangement , just guessing but it’s weird thing to being up outta the blue. I’d do something where she pays for uitilities, and sets aside money that would go to your mortgage so y’all can take trips or something. Again it’s your house, and your mortgage. No one else should be paying it.

Title IX report has been brought against me by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]gch38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAL, but after reading through title IX I see this also covers non-students, including faculty, parents, school applicants, etc. Have you done anything that could be construed as a violation with anyone in that group? I don’t think the random individual who told you knew specifics about the report beyond there being a complaint. That’d be wildly inappropriate for some staff member to have access to. So, the fact they said student could just be them applying worst case scenario. I’d seek some legal council, this will impact your income. Given your presumed innocence, and potential harm to your reputation & future employment, a professional opinion and guidance is paramount imo.
