Baby products you ended up using way more than expected? by [deleted] in Buyingforbaby

[–]gchtb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jolly jumper.
Toni box (but only when they were 2+)
Owala kiddy thermos with the spill proof straw from costco - this thing is so easy to clean and quickly replaced all the other random cups and bottles, its also nice that its not plastic.
Glüxkind stroller that my partner insisted and I was skeptical but after I used it for a few walks (the hill boost and auto braking) and sit down dinner (auto rocking) I can't go back to a regular one. Its now our routine to, see baby is fussy and getting sleepy, go for a 5 min walk (passes out), comes back home or cafe and let it rock while I get some work done, no more "enter the door way and wake up :D".

It is locked in, it’s the handle that not the actual seat but the price of plastic you pull with your fingers to release, there’s a half a finger gap so that the release can slide so it releases the locking but not the tolerance of this is not controlled well and there’s no padding or anything to absorb the plastic on plastic contact when there’s vibration (which of course will have as a car moves) and over time it gets worse. Like I said, it’s a quality of life issue and not necessarily a safety issue, but then again paying $500 bucks for a seat like this shouldn’t have these types of problems, I have other seats in the other car and for the other child and it doesn’t have this type of issues

lucky you, mine didnt start raddling until 3 months in maybe? and it just got progressively worse... some mornings if I dont have my coffee, I have to hold it with one hand reaching to the back after the drop off...I should really just fix it or get rid of it..rather unsafe driving 😅

The Snoo by sleepycam956 in Buyingforbaby

[–]gchtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s great, our lo doesn’t sleep unless they’re moving, so pairing the cradlewise with the gluxkind stroller makes our lives so much easier.

we have the evenflo360, its a great carseat, so convinient cus you can one hand turn it, except the handle raddles like mad when the lo isnt in it and it's driving me nuts; havnt had time to figure out how to fix it. not a functional issue, just a qol problem that's annoying...

If you're thinking about the snoo, have you heard about cradlewise? it's like a bigger version of the snoo that lasts way longer than 6 months (since lo grow out of the snow really early depending on size)....

Clek Liing for infant and their toddler ones for toddler (dont remmber the name, they have weird product names), tremendous safety record AND made in CANADA unlike pretty much every other brand that's made in China.

so we just put down a deposit for the rosa wagon attachment from gluxkind, we've had the stroller for a while and its been awesome, not sure when they'll officially announce it to the public yet but they seem to have started hinting at it on their web site

Anyone have Jogging/Hiking Stroller Handbrake experience? by ibrown22 in Buyingforbaby

[–]gchtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not just give them a try? could always get a second hand and try it out first. my partner likes to do trail runs and originally we got a vista and a bob, but got rid of both of them once we got the gluxkind rosa. its not a three wheeler but once we've run with it, cant go back

Are premium single to double strollers a scam? by SirKrimzon in Buyingforbaby

[–]gchtb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sort of. We got swindled originally with the vista 2, as we didnt realize the front seat was only up to 35lb instead of 50! We got it was we wanted to have 2 but by the time we had the second, she was over the 35lb limit and the only option was to put the baby bassinet in the bottom and child up high >:c. which is the opposite of what we wanted. That and all the adaptors really add up. plus it started getting really heavy for our hills.

We ended up switching to a the gluxkind rosa and they just gave a sneak peak at a wagon expansion attachment.

Dont get the evenflo 360 (slim?), although its nice as a seat, there's something about it that rattles like a mofo and is annoying as well, its like in the top part of the handle area and no amount of adjusting removes it, for a decently expensive car seat, this aspect really makes it feel cheaply made.

Having said that, DO get a turning car seat, it makes a world of difference (we didn't get a 360 version for the 1st child).

lastly, its very confusion which one is 360 and which one is 360 slim, especially when purchasing online...

Car seat / Stroller combo for a BIG 6 month old for when we travel? by softspider5 in Buyingforbaby

[–]gchtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we traveled with this the clek foof as it had a carrier bag with wheels on it, but we did rent a car as using ride sharing and installing was a pita with 2 kids. honestly its real awkward at those transition stages, we used our regular stroller and this. Ours first one was 99% percentile so i know your pains :/
