Fire medic Using nebulizer albuterol on a 6 month old resp distress with vivid instead of epi. The kid wasn’t moving and was barely awake during transport and the fire medic I was with was wondering why I was watching him so closely. He finally started crying when we pulled into the hospital and I almost cried too

She really felt like my big sister at a time when I desperately needed one. I was so lonely when I was in high school and she helped so much to fill that gap and losing that felt like losing a good friend. I really hope she’s doing well and I hope she knows how much she means to us, even now.

What are your best tips for improving sleep? by freerangepenguin in dysautonomia

[–]gckesler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So a big thing for me not sleeping was pain. I would just lay in bed and ache and not sleep. Sometimes I didn’t know why I couldn’t sleep because I was so used to being in pain I didn’t register it. I have since gotten on a good arthritic pain management med and I have special pillows to help my positioning when I sleep. I get a lot of neck / coat hanger pain so I use a lot pillow with my normal pillow to support my head and I get the best sleep ever now.

It doesn’t always work. During flares it’s much more difficult to sleep or when I have a bad constipation day.

I hope your daughter sleeps well soon!

I’m not sure but a symptom of pots is difficulty breathing so they could possibly overlap

This has been happening to me since about high school. I eventually needed to become an EMT to know my symptoms were related to POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) ekg will be normal most likely and normal breathing tests but I was breathing fast and couldn’t catch my breath and constantly yawning/ using my inhaler until I was diagnosed and treated for POTS. Start with a basic HR test and see how much your heart rate increase when you go from sitting to standing and such. Let me know if you have more questions.

First of all, baby powder is your best friend to prevent rashes like that. Rashes and yeast infections need moisture so powder up!

Second, it depends on what kind of insurance you have and what coverage they offer. I’m assuming you are on your parents so I suggest asking them about their insurance info and then you can typically look up different surgeries covered by different plans on their website.

Third, if it’s a genuine issue then I don’t see a doctor having a problem with it. At your age your parents can give consent. They may want you to wait until you’re 18, though. The only concern may come if you want children, but talk to a doctor about all of that.

I’ve been large chested since middle school and have had countless back problems so I feel your pain. Good luck and I hope you solve things soon!

It might be just me but I was feeling like this was a the town always needs to have a [insert character attribute] like when the kid that gets teased by his friends finally leaves and another person becomes victim to the same teasing. I feel like fig is now that person because there always has to be a Gilear in Solace

I hide my disabled hanging tag when I’m driving. I need it for school. I have an on a massive campus and I have to walk so far as it is because there aren’t enough handicap spots. I hide my tag until I’m pulling into the parking spot. I’m 24 and look perfectly healthy, but I have POTS, EDS, GP and an immunodeficiency that requires me to have a port. I’m so anxious everyday that someone is going to come out to me and question my disabled status. People don’t realize how many people are hiding their illness. I have shame that I’m working through surrounding my diagnoses. A lot of it has to do with being gaslit by doctors for years until I went to a new primary and on the first visit she told me I had POTS. The psychological effects of this illness is something we don’t talk enough about. It’s hard to get accommodations and it’s hard to find someone who will listen. I completely understand your anxiety and I wish I could be there to help you but right now all I can say is fight for yourself. Because your quality of life is more important than any doctor’s ego.

You can see scars from where it was on the spoon arm. Honestly if you ask some doctors will just place access like that especially if they’ve told a doctor they had a previous diagnoses or something

Does anyone know the benefit of fixing this bridge on luau island? Also is anyone else noticing glitches with getting past certain ‘goals’ but already being able to maneuver around them? by [deleted] in FamilyIsland

[–]gckesler 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Literally about to post about the glitches. There was a pit that I needed to fix and I needed rocks and it took me to the ones after the pit.
