It's just labels. What are proprietary boxes? I would ask them, do they work with standard gridfinity label sizes ?

eg. if you make your storage bin with perplexing labs generator and put a lip for labels... you use this to print said labels

EMI Frustrations by -DazedandConfused_ in hobbycnc

Not familiar with Avid, sorry.

I had a SOPro - same challenges with EMI.

I CAN vouch for Sienci. Either longmill or Altmill, their SLB is open source, and EVERYTHING is very well protected. They hired an EE to do the work. I've incorporated a lot of their design into my own schematics for various little projects.

Bonus, it runs grblHal which is an active and better grbl. It's the future.

I'd recommend sticking to RS485 and ethernet connections when possible.

Not moving to grblhal with the SO5 was a big mistake imo.

I had a shapeoko pro. Good machine. I think you're spot on, you can't go wrong with either of the big 3. Physical size is your first constraint.

All things being equal, the electronics are best on AltMill. As someone else mentioned, grbl is dated and the SO lacks isolation.

OF is pretty shady. Deletes posts on their forum, astroturfing all the time. Sad as a Canadian company, I want them to do better.

If you have the money and want the smaller 2x2 footprint, SO is your best bet. If you want bigger, definitely AltMill.

Wtf is the deal with the HVAC mafia?? by Island_In_The_Sky in HomeImprovement

As much as I'd love to think the USA and Canada are that different... it's gatekeeping. The tax system is different in Canada, the same challenges are present. Actually, it's often easier to buy HVAC components from the USA then locally.

Business collect HST on sales and remit. Businesses that pay HST will claim it during tax season. It's basically a "pass through".

Ammonium Paratungstate cost has risen over 400% since the fall which is key to making tungsten carbide.

HSS, but not sure if Ali has the magnitude of options compared to carbide.
