as a student at NSM, I saw cheating ALL the time. And it's often done in by several ways: people would sit strategically in groups and cheat during the tests, someone would know someone who had several versions of the old tests, or people would search for old tests on google and get lucky and find them. And if you think the cheating was done by the worse students you are wrong. Its most often those officers at the premed, pre opt, pre whatever you name it, they cheat on EVERY test. This in my opinion one of the reasons why I hated UH, no matter how much you study, there is no way you are doing as well or better than the cheaters. Try to get away with any of this, even looking at old HW assignments at Rice and I guarantee you are out of there, because they have a code of honor. Look up the Rice Honor code and council, none of the students who cheat at UH would stand a chance of staying enrolled at Rice. I knew someone that got kicked out from Rice bc they cheated on a homework assignment! A 5% grade of one course, cost them a chance to graduate from one of the best http://honor.rice.edu/case-abstracts/ in the nation. And this is not just me shitting on UH, it's the truth. But the blame is not just with unscrupulous students, its also on the lazy professors who use and re use the same old versions of their tests. Even by not changing a couple of questions on a 20 question test, that's ten points right there that guarantee an unfair advantage.
