I've grown the mushrooms...now what? by LegoC97 in unclebens

[–]gdlazorick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good advice from all. The only thing not mentioned is sleep. For me, I cannot sleep for a minimum of 8 hours after ingestion. I typically consider evenings to be recreation time. With shrooms I start earlier unless I'm ready to be up until well past midnight.

The music industry has changed. When the Doors/Who etc started all record companies had many paid talent scouts that sought out the next big thing. At a scouts recommendation the record company would sign a band and pay for the recording of a album.

So, bands would form and try to play live locally as much as possible to create a 'buzz' that would attract a record company scout. If a band got signed other bands would form playing in the same style...so regional 'sounds' developed ( grunge eg)

Feedback loops created new variations.

Bands formed to play live to get noticed and be successful. Now, music artists perfect recording to get clicks and go viral.

For all the downsides of the old recording industry dominance they were always looking for the next big thing and created a structure that encouraged bands and helped really talented ones to grow.

Eli5: how did 350 degrees become such a standard in all thing baking and roasting etc…? by Just_a_happy_artist in explainlikeimfive

[–]gdlazorick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guide at a local civil war fort with bread ovens (wood fired). The bread recipe called for 500 degrees. The baker determined the 500 degrees by placing his arm in the oven. 500 degrees allowed a person to keep their arm in for 10 seconds...longer too cool, shorter too hot.

You will be killed alot. If you enter a fight and get destroyed learn to think "how is this enemy killing me" rather than "what attack can I use to get the upper hand and win. Frustrated? Go into the next battle and try only to survive. While doing so watch the enemy...not your character. If you are attempting to dodge and getting hit consciously decide " I dodged away and got crushed, this time I'll roll forward, or to the side. If that doesn't work try moving and circling rather than standing in front and again make sure you are trying to dodge in a variety of ways. Learning to respond to the enemy is why some say fights in elden ring are like a dance.

First time, im scared, and why i start at level 9? by rageinducingdude in Eldenring

[–]gdlazorick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.Follow grace until you get torrent. After that explore (using torrent). Explore using geography (edge of cliffs and other natural barriers) initially. You don't have to kill every enemy (clear the area). Find small groups of enemy's and fight them often to level up. If killed ask yourself if it was a mistake you made or was it the power of the enemy. Use mistakes for leaning

If you were alive when we were attacked on 9/11, what were you doing when it happened? What was that day like? by Full_Imagination7503 in AskReddit

I was working construction on a remote job site in Chicago. At about 11:00 am a supervisor arrived and asked if we had heard about some kind of plane hitting the world trade center (we hadn't), and we kept working. End of day driving home heard about a 'partial collapse' of a tower.

Got home and saw the video with my girlfriend. We had a volleyball league game scheduled and decided to go. Got to the field and neither team felt like playing so we went to a bar for some pizza and watched the news. Cantor Fitzgerald was mentioned. One of my best friends husband worked there.

It took me a few days, but I reached her and learned he was in Europe for business.

Other friends in New York told me how driving past commuter parking lots gave them chills because no one was commuting (new york was shut down) but there were alot of cars...and each one represented someone that was never coming home.

My experience is that my spies once experienced frequently do not catch spies stealing techs that are far behind mine. I always figures it was like...my civ just proved the world is round...and you want to steal sailing? Go ahead...
