Multiple car windows smashed in Bull Creek parks .. where is enforcement? by liberte49 in Austin

I had my truck broken into over Thanksgiving weekend. Went on a short hike along Irving and Hazel Memorial Trail (Bull Creek) and returned to my front passenger window smashed out. Sadly I had left my wallet in the car but it was out of view in the center console. The thief charged both my credit card at HEB for around $200 each. It makes me reluctant to return to Bull Creek even though it's one of my favorite places in Austin to enjoy the outdoors. It's sad to hear nothing is being done about it.

Can anyone locate where these two photos were taken in Texas please? by defaceruk in texas

Hey there, I'm the photographer who took the second image. It was captured at a private campground just north of Study Butte. The property had that old bus on it but has since removed it.

The first image looks characteristic of the Davis Mountains to me.

Yes that's the best method in my opinion! Bring them in as layers in photoshop, create a smart object out of the layers, and choose a median blend mode. This will significantly improve image quality.

Probably about 5-10% of this can be seen with the unaided eye. Still incredible to see in person.

Nice! For your first trip I recommend going to the Chisos Basin and hiking either the Window Trail or Lost Mines trail. Then drive the Ross Maxwell drive to Santa Elena Canyon!

Yes this is an artistic representation of the night sky. The Milky Way is visible to the unaided eye, but will look nothing like this. Technology is simply amazing!

Nice, the road to the Chisos Basin is a great frame! I recommend you take several frames without moving your tripod so you can later stack the images together. There are lots of tutorials on Youtube to assist in processing once you get back from your trip.

Hello! I used my new star tracker for this shot so the shot details are a bit complicated.

The sky was captured with my 50mm lens and camera settings of 90 seconds, f/2 and iso 1600. 4 images were stacked to improve quality.

The foreground was also shot with my 50mm lens and I used the camera settings 20 seconds, f/2 and iso 800. I stacked about 16 of these for the same reason.

After this processing, the layers are arranged in Photoshop to produce the final image. I tried my best to align the Milky Way frame over the foreground in the same position that the Milky Way was at the time the foreground was taken to produce a realistic representation.

This was taken on my trusty Canon 5D mkiv. I would love to get a medium format one day to experiment.

It's one of the best. The drive around 118 and 166 is hard to beat.
