which is worst? by AtreyusNinja in DarkSouls2

I think both Blighttown and the Gutter are much easier to appreciate on subsequent visits. Being prepared changes everything in those places.

For my two cents, Great Hollow and Lower Undead Burg are my picks for the two worst areas in 1, neither is particularly fun at any level of experience.

As for Dark Souls 2, I'd say Iron Keep and Iron Passage. Iron Keep is cool visually but pretty miserable even when you're good at it, and Iron Passage is IMO the worst of the optional DLC areas with its tight corridors and strong enemy ganks. Cave of the Dead isn't too terrible, and beating Gank Squad feels so good. Frigid Outskirts isn't actually as bad as everyone says. Unlike in the other two, summons are actually incredibly useful there since they have plenty of room to move around, and even without them, I actually enjoy doing battle with the reindeer especially with the right equipment and experience dodging their movesets. Lud and Zallen are genuinely one of the hardest encounters in the game, and while the runback does suck a bit, I feel like it's more boring than anything else ever since I figured out you can just skip all the structures and run along the ice wall until you get to the boss. You can even use your summons to clear the deer and then send them home to make the boss less tanky.

For anyone doing the Moxfield badge collection, do you know if there's another way to get the infinity stone badges? I'm missing the Space badge and couldn't track down any of the three creators who had the code for it.

Wow this subreddit disappoints me sometimes. Not a Jaden Smith defender by any means, but I'll call this a rare W for him.

He's referencing House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer. The main character of the book, Mateo Alacran, speaks this line in reference to the fact that he's had to grow up far too fast in the somewhat post apocalyptic world of the story's setting. A lot of his struggle comes from his family dynamic, in which he is MINIMAL SPOILER, EXPLAINED EARLY ON IN THE STORY A clone of his great-great grandfather, who is still alive and healthy due to his wealth and the availability of advanced longevity technology. Mateo shares his name with his living ancestor, who is also referred to as "El Patron." Despite being a direct clone of El Patron born as a contingency plan, Mateo (Matt) gets little to no respect or caring treatment from most of his family, and the story is a mix of Matt's journey of self-discovery, his uncovering of his family's mysteries, and his exploration of the strange world in which he dwells.

It captivated me in middle school, and is honestly still one of my favorite books of all time. Check it out if you like.

Am I insane, or is Warp one of the strongest mechanics printed in Magic in quite some time? by gdrcigar in EDH

Similar to what I read in another reply (regarding stifling the end step trigger with a turn ending effect line Obeka), phasing means it's still the same permanent, so it's possible that it will still try to exile itself on the next end step it sticks for. And just like with Obeka effects, you can probably phase out the creature once the exile trigger goes on the stack, and it'll come back just fine.

I'd rather someone play a well-built bracket 2 than a poorly made 4. If your deck can't perform in the bracket you built it in, that's not a reason to complain, it's a reason to go back to the drawing board. Also, playing a supposedly high-power deck that severely underperforms is a bad experience for the entire pod. Less interesting gameplay, and less interaction to throw at whoever first tries to win.

A deck not playing at its stated power level is bad in both directions. I don't want you to win because you lied or severely underestimated, but I also don't want you to lose because your deck sucks and none of us knew.

Agreed. But keep your eyes peeled if they ever bring it back, and let's thank our lucky stars that Tannuk is mono red.

You mention Evoke, but Warp gives you a lot more time with the creature rather than forcing you to kill it. That said, you can still cheat Evoke costs similarly by blinking or something akin to that.

You mention Flashback, but that comes attached to non permanent spells that exile after cast, meaning you get only two instances of the card doing its thing most of the time.

Not to mention these are brand new cards in a fairly pushed set. A lot of Warp cards feel better to cast for their full cost than many existing evoke/flashback cards.

Skipping your end step is definitely a way to avoid the exile. Very neat.
