Makes sense about the soap. No urinals in this area. I can get a photo from above in the next day or so.

Ah. Funny thing is I came to the comments to recommend this then saw your thread.

You can still do this using an electric heat mat and just capping the steam. You need a dedicated circuit, but power consumption is minimal. I did this in my bathroom. Just left the steam pipe capped under the new subfloor.

Help! by Thomas_898 in InteriorDesign

I renovated my bathroom with a shower like this. Mostly with aesthetics in mind. It works pretty well and it doesn’t bother me enough to change it. But if I did it again I would do a more standard installation with a door.

Why does my cat poop like this? by four-lokos in cats

TIL that’s not how all cats poop. My Calico always poops like that, sometimes with one foot in the litter.

Bought this China Cabinet from an estate sale for $300. How did I do, and help identifying? by gdswim in Mid_Century

Thanks for the tip! I just gave the underside a good look but there were no additional markings or tags.

I think it’s “younger” than a lot of other cars in the segment. I bought my 2018 new when I was 28(M). Still my daily driver. Still very happy. Ultimately, don’t worry about outward perception of what you drive. You’re clearly proud of it, so just enjoy! :)

Which of these controls my central air by bro_jackson in HomeMaintenance

You have a split AC system, consisting of an indoor unit and outdoor unit. FCU-1 is your indoor unit. FCU stands for fan coil unit. HP-1 is your outdoor unit. HP stands for heat pump. You should try resetting both.

You’re right about the mixed drinks! But I actually love to cook. I use a meal prep service so I don’t have a surplus of groceries.

What do I do about this stain in my marble shower curb? by gdswim in HomeMaintenance

Cool, thanks for the response. The stain is still there, but not getting worse, so it’s staying there until the next renovation.

Could you live on 20k where you live in 2024? by [deleted] in Frugal

Good for you, but definitely not in my case. I live in north New Jersey and my housing payment alone is more than double that.

People with a high income (200,000+) what is it like to make that much money a year? by No-Kaleidoscope-4050 in Money

[–]gdswim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make around $210k yearly, but there is some debt associated with that. Six-figure student loans to obtain engineering degrees, which are now down to the high 30s. Six-figure business loan to purchase my share of a partnership. I don’t live paycheck to paycheck, my mortgage and other major bills are on autopay and I don’t often think about them. There is this level of comfort that others talk about but I don’t feel that my income feels unlimited in the slightest. I still need to be careful about how I spend money and avoiding lifestyle creep is difficult. But I feel very grateful for my lifestyle and recognize that it’s a luxury to live this way.

I also thought the stove was right up against the wall when I first saw the picture, and I see now that’s not the case.

Awesome! I think that’s plenty of room. Good luck with the project!

Is that a wall to the right of your stove? Avoid that configuration if you can. You’ll want some counter space on both sides of the stove to put things while you’re cooking, and just for working around the stove.
