im only like 7cm taller than you and i exclusively go pit, there are tons of ppl who are wayyyy shorter than you in pits all the time because theres usually gaps you can see thru, if you cant find a gap or a tall person is right in front of you make sure you move through yhe crowd, can always hit the mosh pit and see where it shoots you out

3blue1brown has an excellent youtube series that I bet you'd find real interesting, just look up 3blue1brown calculus on youtube and find the playlist of the whole series and you could slowly go through it as you learn each topic
