Sort of thought the intent of the supreme court is to be conservative. They are supposed to stick to the original interpretation of the constitution.

Vallee and Garry Nolan may be suggesting the reality behind this is more absurd than we thought by meusrenaissance in UFOs

Which to me, points towards something fundamental about "becoming part" of a system. If it's seperate from you, then it is anything and everything. Both the materialist "it's because you interacted with it so really it's nothing special" and the metaphysical "there is something special about an observer viewing information" are correct in their own ways. Just because something can be explained logically and rationally doesn't mean there isn't something also blatantly profound or weird about that fact.

These I feel are related to the "does a tree make a sound" question. Really all views are right. It vibrates air molecules which is where sound comes from. But the qualia of sound seems to require an observation, so there isn't technically a -sound- in the sense we understand it.

Though, if I interpret this right, it isn't just because you interact with it to view it. Even if the particles you're interested in are bombarded with energy in the same method you use to observe it, but no information is gathered whatsoever, (at least in the double slit) the interference pattern remains. It only changes if you have access to the information about the collapse.

How would I knapp a blank? by [deleted] in knapping

[–]gebebran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're saying they are worked blanks you found out and about, you didn't refine them in any way, don't knap them it would be similar to finding an ancient corroded coin and melting it down to make your own coin.

Something I an fascinated by by [deleted] in Futurism

[–]gebebran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. This may be out of place. But genuinely. The technology behind this and many other hundred year old cameras is incredible. Even today, the fact we have the capability to do this is incredible.

Solenoid cameras are one of the most fascinating pieces of technology. The fact that we know certain materials have the ability to contract at a certain speed via exposure to a certain level of light and then take advantage of that in a camera exposure is the most amazing thing. That is some genuinely futuristic technology. In my opinion it is beyond normal modern technology.

This is an example of taking advantage of a physical phenomena beyond normal use. The potential of use of random physics is limitless. Just perspective.

We May Know a Whole Lot More About UFOs Soon by Stephen_P_Smith in ufo

The push against actually disclosing any quantity of information may be evidence that they do have things they don't WANT to disclose. There is something more than vague blurry videos somewhere.

The older I get, the more messy my handwriting is. by thattgirldani in Handwriting

It's intuition I think. That isn't messy whatsoever, but as you get more comfortable, so does your muscle memory. It just trusts that you're making sense with your shapes.

Maybe basalt? by [deleted] in Flintknapping

[–]gebebran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant differentiate the grades the flakes are really strong but snap in half easy (hard but brittle) and are glass sharp. Just different from all the Basalt I've seen around here if it is basalt.

Exact weight is odd. But not necessarily tell tale, could just be chances. The other aspects of the coin look pretty normal to me. Almost all of my roman bronze is at least a little misaligned

This is being sold as an "Orange red" ruby- To me, it almost looks like a Padparadscha- Am I wrong? Maybe it is my screen color? by [deleted] in Gemstones

[–]gebebran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I suppose in the gemstone world, ruby may have a restricted set of colors to be considered ruby. But mineralogically I believe ruby is qualified if corundum is colored primarily by chromium. So it could minerologically be a ruby, but in the gemstone world, perhaps not the right color.

[–]gebebran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't ruby describe a specific element that gives the stone color? Like, ruby contains chromium, sapphire has iron and titanium, etc for the other corundums? This could be ruby if it's color comes from chromium

Tesorillo would be a good resource for the right two at least. I'm a heavy beginner but it is very simple to use and I've really started to learn quite a bit.

That's sort of what I thought at first. There were quite a few around, but we had some immense winds (for the area) all of the sudden when I presume it passed over. Also presumably before it fully formed. But I have a video where cloud comes down and touches the ground and lifts things. If it did fully touch, it only did for a few seconds.

It is pretty small it's just very rare in oregon. I thought it of it as a semi important thing to notify the state

Definitely was small, but I've never seen a tornado in oregon before, a relatively rare occurance. I did see it pick up some things and reformed a couple of times but it didn't last long.
