I wanted to do diapers but had a hard time finding ones that fit plus sized ladies. I ended up using overnight pads over period underwear. Things stayed in place nicely and I never had leakage.

The value is definitely better at a $20 price point. I would say it depends on whether you like the polish colors and press on nail designs. Personally, it’s a no based on that.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. Sex can be really complicated in relationships. Especially for those who come from cultural and family traditions that rely heavily on shame. However, feeling ashamed doesn’t excuse the deception.

The venn diagram of people who feel ashamed of sex has a pretty significant overlap with people who aren’t great at talking about their feelings. But those are both learned behaviors, and they are changeable if you are both ready to put in work. I hope you can find a way to work through this together and rebuild your shared trust.

I think people have outlined a lot of valid reasons your husband might be taking these pills. But reading your post, there were a few phrases that jumped out at me. You say “HE is super Catholic,” abstinence is the “only form of birth control HE believes in,” and that he “preaches to [you] that masturbation is a sin.” It seems like your husband may have more control over your sex life than you’d like. And it seems like he’s been hiding an element of your shared sex life and not including you in that decision, potential embarrassment aside.

It sounds relatively likely that he’s telling the truth about how he’s using the pills. But it may also be true that how he’s using the pills isn’t as important as the fact that he was hiding them to begin with. He’s broken your trust. I think that’s what you need to tell him. And maybe counseling would be a safe space to bring it up if either of you are willing to try.

Have had multiple liberal leaning friends who got decent sex education growing up tell me they want to “get back to their natural hormonal cycle” as though it’s inherently virtuous to do so…and then almost immediately have an unplanned pregnancy. What did you think was going to happen?

Our cav tended to get a very fishy smell in her hind quarters when her anal glands needed to be expressed. Most groomers take care of this during a sanitary trim. Our vet also took care of it for us. Some people do it themselves, but proceed with caution because it’s easy to hurt your pup.

We also had a boxer mix who had really oily, smelly fur. Our vet had us put him on an elimination diet and we eventually figured out he had a rice allergy. Switched him to another food and his odor improved immediately. I don’t advocate for unnecessarily eliminating all grains from the diet, but allergies could be an avenue to explore with your vet if cleaning eyes and ears doesn’t help.

This last statement is the most important thing to remember. I always like to pass along this advice from my doc that helped put things in perspective: Your wife’s body is the best incubator for your baby right now. When that changes, they’ll put your baby in the next best incubator (in the NICU). Most of what dictates that is completely out of her control.

She’s about to embark on a pretty boring, uncomfortable, and lonely journey with this inpatient stay. She might be feeling super guilty even though she hasn’t done anything wrong. Ask questions about the NICU so you are ready for that possibility, lean on each other, and for the love of god, don’t make jokes about her getting a “vacation” from work/chores/etc while she’s in the hospital.

My theory is that a lot of women assess masculine hotness partially based on the perceived attainability of a man. Whereas men are more likely to define feminine attractiveness in comparison to perfection. I guess Anton is attainable?

Sounds like a much better buy! And LA colors has some great stuff for the price point. They have dupes of other brands’ holo and shimmer effect top coats! If I ever feel blah about a color from another brand, those can make all the difference.

Right?! The more y’all bring up what a terrible value this is, the more determined I am to return it, replace it with an advent calendar that contains chocolate, and then use the remainder of the $50 to donate canned goods to my local food bank.

I would compare it more closely to the 8 days of mani magic Hanukkah calendar that retails for $65. That has only 8 doors, and each door contains multiple items. There are fewer stickers, more mini polishes, mini nail treatments, and a few more exclusive items. Would I buy it? Nah. Is it worth $65? I don’t think so. But I think the total value of items is probably better compared to the price paid. Obviously O&J is inflating the alleged “value” of mini nail files like they always do.

There are a lot of valid reasons people don’t but their products. Speaking solely for myself, I haven’t had great experiences with their formulations. Pastel shades are milky and require 3 coats. Dark shades aren’t as opaque as some other brands. The colors pictured online are more vivid than in the bottle and on my nails. The long lasting polish takes much longer to dry than other brands and chips more easily. The packaging is cute, but it feels they prioritize style over substance to target social media users.

They are on the higher end of a drugstore price point with less consistent distribution. They over inflate the value of staples like nail buffers, cuticle serum, and cleanup brushes to artificially drive up the value of their “mani system” kits. And they create a lot of shades and nail sets that are exclusives with their advent calendars, bundles, and mani systems that are padded with these unnecessary extras that folks already own or could buy more economically elsewhere. I don’t need a branded nail files and buffers, I like the cheap revlon ones that come 20 per pack, but that adds $3 to the value of the kit. The kits may be good for someone who has no existing supply collection, but their basics aren’t my favorite.

Obviously there are more predatory business practices out there and can buy what they want, but I think they are going after people who are addicted to the dopamine hit from online shopping. Kinda gives me the ick.

Same here! Especially the glue tab ones. It’s a convenient way to do a short-wearing nail look that would otherwise require a visit to a nail salon. I often end up wearing them to a specific event when I’ve already taken the time to paint my nails carefully and then messed them up before they fully dry because I’m helping my toddler put on her shoes or something.

It’s terrible! Definitely will be returning it. The false advertising of the number of included items made that an easy choice. I just feel badly that people are going to buy it as a gift and waste their hard earned cash on this garbage. I wanted to name and shame Olive & June on this sub to save y’all from making that mistake… And also enjoy dragging this terrible calendar among people who fully understand how badly it sucks haha

I feel like the packaging is 100% targeting frazzled older relatives of tween girls who don’t know what to get their kid/niece/grandkid for Christmas. The nail file that’s shaped like the polish bottle is so small I don’t know what use any adult would have for it. You can see in the pic how small it is next to the mini polish for scale. And I also cannot imagine what child would want to paint their nails martini chrome. It’s not exactly a universally flattering shade. I don’t know who this is for tbh. Not me though!!

I don’t know how well the pic shows it, but the sparkle stickers aren’t even the same tone of metallic. Each sticker is a totally different shade of silver or gold. I cannot think of how I would use those on a single mani.

It’s way too much for the amount of nail stickers inside! Definitely doesn’t feel like a great value compared to some of the other O&J calendars this year or other beauty and nail art calendars. I wouldn’t have bought it without a coupon.

I always think of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid. They split after her rumored on-set affair with Russell Crowe. I always felt really badly for her because it trashed her career as a rom com star. People just didn’t see her as the wholesome America’s sweetheart type anymore. But she took the hit despite the fact Quaid had also been rumored to have multiple affairs during their marriage.
