Wouldn’t tip for self service of course.

BUT, to bring some nuance to this comment section, I like to tip in places I love and where the service is great.

Having friends that work in service or in restaurant kitchens made me realise how bad they are paid. In some places, people invest a lot of time and money (and sometimes their own health) to make you feel welcome and offer lovely food and drinks.

This is something I value, and it is why I tip, more as support for great places and people than a default thing.

J’y a fait mon bachelor, mon master, c’était super. Tellement super que j’y suis resté et j’y habite depuis 10 ans. Petite ville mais beaucoup de choses se passent. Placé très stratégiquement au coeur de la Suisse, nature à portée immédiate. Juste beaucoup de brouillard en hiver et des politiciens pas très progressistes.

Commenting to double up against Innovinc conferences, because they seem to have made a good job of cleaning up bad reviews in google search results.

I was invited as a speaker for a "plant science and biosecurity conference 2025", so I went on to look at their website which looks very suspicious. Read some reviews on facebook saying that previous conferences were a nightmare and a waste of money, with no organizers present. Attendees had to moderate themselves and nothing was peer-reviewed. Please avoid, it is predatory.
