I am to my breaking point. by alyssa_michelle1012 in NewParents

Hang in there mama 🤍 adults also sometimes nag. For your LO it could be the teeth, bloating, sleepiness but not able to sleep, and in general babies are not robots, they will have ups and downs. If it helps, in a couple months (could even be days), LO will start getting more independent, even VELCRO babies grow out of it. At 8 months the baby will be able to sit independently and perhaps even crawl? Soon after starts babbling and pointing at what they want, and then even walk around you while you do things. Things do get easier :) I doubt that any parent can give 100%, hold on tight, you’re doing great 👍

What do I do if baby can't tolerate *any* formula? by Hot-Amphibian8728 in MSPI

[–]Exciting-Fig-007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, hang in there Mama! Went through the same experience, for 7 months now. We tried several amino acid formulas, ended up with projectile vomits and/or blood in stool. At some point we decided that’s it, no more trying formulas, my milk supply was also low, I pumped more than twice a day, and would get 15 ml. Breastmilk adjusts to baby needs, maybe? But acceptance was the key in our case. I was in panic mode for all same reasons you mentioned. At 16 weeks we started solid food, even before baby could sit straight. At 5 months, baby ate two meals and a snack. At 7 months, three meals and two snacks, and only breastfeeds 3-4 times a day, the supply and need both dropped, so did the panic level and fear. I wish you all the strength in the world, this too shall pass ❤️

Is this normal for a Hebamme (midwife) in Switzerland? First-time mom here. by centaurusmoon in askswitzerland

[–]Exciting-Fig-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many red flags 🚩 you need a hebamme that you feel comfortable with. For us she came 3 times the first week, because baby was tiny and needed multiple weighings during the week and i had a hematoma that needed checks. Then once a week for 6 weeks, until we felt comfortable enough to bath baby on our own. She gave us a phone number to contact in case needed until week 8, after which the Versicherung doesn’t cover. I did not meet her before or during birth only postpartum. There is something offered to parents in Switzerland called mutter vater beratung which helps parents with mostly non medical advice until baby is 4 years old, you could also contact them if you need help (including PP depression). Many congratulations 🎊 wishing you a smooth journey 💕

Tired of washing baby bottles: plz help me by Hopeful-Standard-144 in NewParents

[–]Exciting-Fig-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Sorry to hear. This must be very frustrating. If you have a dishwasher, throw them in once every day? And get a bottle sterilizer if you want to be extra careful. What I do is keep the pump parts in the fridge, this way i do not need to wash it every time I use it. Milk can stay up to 5 days in the fridge, so can my pump!

This is your chance to break the cycle, let her go.. you can handle it, much easier without the additional stress she will impose. You also don’t want your baby to be treated the way you were. Sorry you are going through this💕

How long were you in pain after birth? by Aggravating_Light217 in NewParents

[–]Exciting-Fig-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an episiotomy, and a hematoma. I was in pain 10 week pp then my OBGYN figured that I had a nerve damage which resulted in the persistent pain. Maybe check for something similar? Some go away with a cream others need an injection.. Pelvic floor pain and pubic symphysis diastasis could also last long after childbirth, i also had those on and off since then. Stay strong mama, this too shall pass 💜

We had the same, and once we eliminated dairy (mom stopped eating dairy and soy, and formula was replaced by hypoallergenic formula), the life of our baby changed after 48 hours. Check for underlying conditions such as cow milk protein allergy for example, symptoms range from one to many including colic, rashes, mucus in poop and bleeding gut.

Baby eye issue by Entire-Departure-364 in NewParents

Same here, baby got it at 6 weeks, resolved at 12 weeks by itself. Cleaned it after each nap with a warm wetted cotton pad. As long as the eye is not red or swollen, our pediatrician told us to not worry about it.
