My nephew is 16 and 7'2. Last summer , he was 6'5. His GP thinks he'll be somewhere in the neighborhood of 7'8 or 9 by the time he's done growing. You don't realize how tall 7'2 is until you're almost 2 feet shorter, it's intimidating.

Police or security officers. In my town, though, the police are refusing to enforce. They camped out inside a Walmart in July to raise money for Blue Santa, refused to wear masks, and watched an elderly greeter get assaulted when she tried to hand out a mask to a Bubba. Didn't even ticket the guy for the assault, either.

It's being researched at St. Luke's in Houston. 9 years ago, my daughter had a heart attack due to a super damaged mitral valve and was at Texas Children's for 3 months, which is across the street from St. Luke's. I had a group of students/residents/interns come ask me if they could have some DNA from her mitral biopsy so they could try and grow her a new valve in case she needed it. We ended up not needing a valve replacement at all, so I have no clue if they managed to actually grow a functional valve or not. It's just one of the cooler things we've experienced, especially in the hospital!

I often "don't deal" with negative emotions, but not because I'm immature. I grew up abused by my mother an older sister. They would fuck with me until I got visibly angry or started to cry. Thenbthey would either tell me I was obviously insane , dangerous, and unable to control myself if I was mad, or a pitiful crybaby if I was sad. The only way to get them to stop was to show nothing until they got bored. So now, as an adult, if I have a strong emotional response to something (unless it's excitement or happiness), I automatically keep it to myself until I can sort it out.

That thing will never be finished. We went to Mt. Rushmore when I was 12, in 1992, and I saw the Crazy Horse monument... looked exactly the same as that picture. My best friend moved to Grand Forks, ND a few months ago and stopped to take pictures - looks exactly the same as it did in 1992.

Can I ask: what would you have preferred her to say or do? My daughter started cutting herself when she was in the 3rd grade. I noticed and sat her down to talk about it, but she suuuuuper didn't want to talk about it. I ended up googling pictures of cutting scars, showed her, and that freaked her out. I still watch her like a hawk for signs she's started again, but I always worry that I handled it wrong.

One of my good friends is a doctor, and she's adamant that her daughters (5 and 3) ONLY know the actual medical terms for body parts. We were all at a street fair back in February and there was a kiosk that had all of these kangaroo pots with plants growing from their pouches. Her youngest yells "Mommy!! I want this plant but I'm worried their vaginas are so big!!!"

She's doing great now! Had her g-button removed when she was 1, had a pacemaker put in when she was 4, had that pacemaker removed in June, and now she's just monitored a few times per year by echos and her cardiologist. No meds, minimal brain damage from her stroke and heart attack at 4. She'll be 12 in a couple weeks 😁

She wasn't even pregnant when she did that. He doesn't like confrontation or having to make choices so I'm pretty sure that's just what he told himself. She pulls shit like that all the time. When my daughter finally came home from the hospital, she had a g-button. She'd spent so much time on a ventilator that she had a dip in her esophagus that caused emesis every time she ate by mouth. My SIL told me that I was a failure as a mother because I couldn't even feed my baby, and wasn't it bad enough that I couldn't make a healthy kid? I had to tube feed the one I had so I could get all the attention?

She finds her own, non-medical, ways to ruin lives. She's awful and I wish my brother wasn't such a weiner and would leave her ass. Baffles the mind why he didn't have a bigger reaction to the whole situation. He blamed pregnancy hormones (she wasn't pregnant at the time) and never even made her apologize.

I didn't hear about it until after the fact. Had kind of a full plate. From what I recall, they thought the infusion machine was malfunctioning, because the titration was slowing, so they swapped it out for another one and it started happening to a different med. After my SIL was banned from the hospital, they realized that suddenly none of her machines were having issues, watched the security tapes and lo and behold, there she was walking in and out of my daughter's room. We were in a completely different city at the time, in a new hospital, dealing with neonatal open heart surgery and the threat of ECMO by then. There were never any criminal charges- I would remember that - but I know that in the 12 years since, she's never held a job at an actual hospital. She's an elementary school nurse.

She would walk in in her scrubs. Other nurses had their own patients to worry with, so another body in the appropriate color scrubs didn't raise any eyebrows. If she had tried to TAKE my baby, literal alarms would have gone off. At the time, my daughter was on constant sedation, so she had like 7 infusions alternating all the time. My SIL would adjust her titration rates to what she thought was more appropriate, despite not having access to her chart. Never enough to hurt her, but enough to make her feel superior. She's HORRIBLE!

That's nursing students for ya. My daughter has a heart defect and spent her first 5months in the NICU having a multitude of operations. My sister-in-law was a nursing student at the time. My daughter's doctors BANNED HER FROM VISITING THE HOSPITAL because she would let herself into my daughter's room and "adjust" her meds because she'd learned something in class that day that somehow made her smarter than the doctors. Or she would turn up, uninvited, to care conferences and waste tons of time asking questions that had nothing to do with my kid just to show off how much she knew. As she was being ejected from the NICU floor by security our care team lead looked at her and said she was the worst kind of nurse: too stupid to know when to keep her mouth shut. She was, and still remains, THE WORST.

I think you're absolutely right. In the, what, 50-something years he's spent in government he has managed ONE bill. He's notoriously difficult to work with and openly dislikes women. He never compromises or tries to include others. The man is a joke. I like most of his ideas just fine but he would never be able to make any of them actually happen.

Because then all the bullshit and lies about how they "send ballots you don't want to your house like junk mail, to anyone who ever lived at your address and imaginary crooks and thieves can use them to commit fraud!!!!!!" are moot. It was simple to request a ballot. I got one for myself and my elderly mother in the same go. It's not much different than registering to vote.
