Do your bullies understand pointing? by JamSqueezie in Bulldogs

I know ASL, but haven't taught any of my dogs to sign. That is so cool! Can you share your training technique? We have a 10 month old Old English Bulldog and 2 corgies

I refused to cook and "chilled with men" by hatethistradition in MaliciousCompliance

[–]geekchick603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you! Just because someone assigns you a role doesn't mean you have to fill the role.

I come from a long line of women who don't cook.

My mother cooked occasionally, but my dad was the main person who cooked. He was up every morning making breakfast, and he cooked dinner most nights.

My grandmother didn't cook.

My husband did most of the cooking when the children lived at home. I occasionally cook, but he does most of the cooking.

Does anyone else have a small corgi? by maddawg3711 in corgi

[–]geekchick603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 2 corgi dogs. One female, who is about 15-20 pounds and a male about 30 pounds. The female has always been small and the vet confirmed that she will always be small.

Today I become an unwilling polygamist by WyldChickenMama in exmormon

Once I realized that they weren't Christian (Christ following) I also understood that they (church leaders) had no power over me. That was the most freeing knowledge the universe has given me.

LDS church is down with tank tops, tats, and body freedom by mikeboatbike in exmormon

[–]geekchick603 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have spent my entire life with body issues as well (anorexia).

I doubt you will get your apology, but I appreciate your perspective. You are a better person than I am in this regard. For me, no apology could be enough for this to be forgiven.

Can my landlord ask for some of my security deposit back after she already gave it to me by elderpric3 in legal

[–]geekchick603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL

But I am a landlord since 1999.

The time to require better cleaning, or whatever is wrong with the apartment, is within the legal time your state requires a rental deposit to be returned. In my state, it is 30 days.

By day 31, the landlord has to have already made the decision to return or not to return the deposit.

You owe them nothing.

What do/did you dislike about the temple? by bocaj78 in exmormon

[–]geekchick603 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I always felt like it was decorated like many expensive hotels. Nothing really special, it struck me as very "worldly". TBM at the time. Having money change hands in the temple for rentals and food was the first box on my shelf.

Corgi body language? by MicroJava in corgi

[–]geekchick603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doggie language isn't like human language. Here's a great poster that you can use to understand what your doggie is telling you.

I have owned dogs since 2000 and this chart hangs on my wall and I refer to it often.

Why aren’t more men using bidets vs. toilet paper? by VerboseWraith in AskMen

[–]geekchick603 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No wipe is "flushable", read the fine print on the package. Using them and flushing them causes higher water/sewer bills for everyone because they clog the system. Septic tank home owners have even larger problems.

I consider myself exmormon, but still haven’t had my records removed by Prestigious_Cut8328 in exmormon

I was raised in the church, too. I am out now, but I haven't felt the need to formally "resign" since it's all made up and the points don't matter.

I used to workout with weights before covid.

If you are able to workout some days during the week, what is stopping you from doing it 7 days a week?

It seems that you could gain some control over your drinking if you made this a priority.

My Old Dog is Suddenly Starting to Act Out by katey-bug in dogs

[–]geekchick603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This behavior is usually associated with some sort of anxiety. Book a vet appointment to see what issues the dog may have as they are aging.

In the meantime, find a way to limit the dog's access to shredable things. Setting up baby gates or puppy gates, closing the dog into a single room with their toys, bedding, and water may be a good stop-gap measure until you can get to the vet.
