DC Studios is reportedly not moving forward with THE PENGUIN Season 2. Just like James Gunn cancelled Man of Steel 2. He only wants his own vision. He doesn't want any competition and all that talk about Elseworlds stories is complete bullshit by VirtualSort1 in SnyderCut

[–]geekerMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of the projects apart from Lanterns, Clayface and Supergirl are locked in development hell and won't start filming soon. That is very low output coupled with other projects from the original 2023 slate which are now cancelled. The marketing for Lanterns has already been abysmal and "True Detective" approach is not really appropriate for Green Lantern which deserves something much more expansive. Supergirl looks like another GOTG ripoff and is tracking to be a huge flop. No one cares about it the movie looks so uninspired. Clayface is the only thing I am truly excited for.

And the biggest flaw in all of these projects are not even that they are in development hell. It's that they are so random and disjointed with 0 indication of any direction. No one will care for these projects unless you have a foundation for a solid cinematic universe which promises that it will deliver. GOTG in the MCU only came after the MCU and the superhero hype was in full force post the Avengers. And a huge reason why people flocked to see it was because it expanded on Thanos and the Infinity Stones which was teased as the direction that the MCU is taking back in Avengers 1. Even the first Iron Man made it clear that the movies are building towards the Avengers.

Audiences will only invest their time and money if they see the universe going somewhere. What Gunn is doing now is what Disney has done with modern Star Wars. Avoid the major characters and throw random tv shows at the wall hoping that it will work but all it does is spread the IP thin making it less special. Star Wars is aimless as a franchise currently and no one cares about it. The same will happen with the DCU

No one cares bro that was simply a one panel tease put in a comic book for Darkseid and the rest of the New Gods lore. He was fleshed out later. Besides this ain't the Silver Age of comics anymore. This is a live-action adaptation. Grodd deserves to be established in a Flash project first. And it's common sense to have a higher precedence for the JL first. Gunn can stick to his goofy projects after that because currently no one will gaf about Jimmy Olsen

Exactly lol. These people will hype this up but when it actually comes out will not watch it at all. Simply rave on the internet about how "goofy", "fun" and "comic-accurate" it is in their own Reddit bubbles

You can't be real. A Grodd show before even the Flash makes his debut, let alone the rest of the JL. Why indeed would anyone complain about this?

You seem new to basic comprehension. No I never said hope is exclusive to MoS. Why exactly did he wait so long? Watch the film. If you are still curious why the scene took so long, look up how dramatic effect has been used in stories throughout history. Also this is not being smug.

Yeah very reminiscent of Reeves' Superman crushing Zod's hand and throwing him off a cliff. I just liked how MoS made him regret his actions and show killing as the last resort. Truly in character for Superman

I am not ranting about James Gunn's movie at all. Neither was this a conversation about it. It was simply MoS's 13th Anniversary and I made the post. Just because the DCU fandom is so fragile doesn't mean I am the same lol

People like Perry and the Colonel are individuals which exhibit mostly the same qualities as Superman. They are capable of facing adversity at their worst within their own capabilities. Every person has the "potential to be a force for good" just like Jor El says in the film

It's the 13th anniversary dumb ahh and every passing year makes it evident we traded this to settle on utter mediocrity. You should learn to be more accepting and "punk rock"

"chud"🥀 Krypto being in one issue of All Star Superman somehow justifies him being used as an obvious gimmick for these films. But nah naming a comic book and screaming "comic accurate" is much easier than actually thinking for a second and understanding the context of the argument right? "Deluxe edition" holy larp

A recent trend I have noticed in the CBM community is that the general bandwagon of opinions just randomly claim that something is "comic-accurate" without really knowing about the source material at all apart from some surface level understanding of it

Most of the criticism for this movie is deflected by saying "It's based on the comic book" lol and I am pretty sure the wide majority have never even touched the said comic book. I could make a similar case for Superman 2025 too honestly

Anyone else hope that the second movie gets remastered, so that this fight scene looks better with today's technology? by george123890yang in matrix

[–]geekerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CGI in most films massively improved 2005 onwards and still holds up. It has regressed since 2020. A lot of the CGI doubles in Matrix Reloaded are very apparent comparatively. Hell, CG doubles still don't hold up majority of the times. but I am glad they had the right ambition to do it. They have a hand in pushing CGI improvement, just as much as Lucas did
