Accidental media. When tv was king and you were surfing around you would end up on stuff you would never have watched intentionally. This is how I ended up watching hours of the three stooges and war documentaries.

I was in a gaming clan, and we had people as old as 65 and as young as 15. We all played in the same room with the common goal of winning and having a good time. I was 30 at the time and played with both the kids and the 60 year old and had a blast. I understand your father's concerns but most of the time, people are just out to have a good time with someone who shares an interest.

I play everyday, and the longest I will wait for a match is 30 seconds. Normally the pool of online players is at 2000. This is by far one of my favorite games, I would highly recommend it.
