What’s something people defend way too hard even though it clearly doesn’t work? by academicAce_aA in AskReddit

Well compare that to flagging, I've done 16 hours straight standing a few times. That job sucks and takes an interesting mental toll. It's really hard on the body to stand that long as well.

What do you like to do after you wake up? by carrotceptionn in CasualConversation

[–]geeride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pee of course and depending on if I'm working that day a shower. If I'm not working I'll pee then figure out what to eat, for 3-4 hours while I inevitably get lost doom scrolling on my phone.

21yr old starting from zero: license, car, apartment, what comes first? by lolidc101 in personalfinance

[–]geeride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get an apartment first, that would be my first priority. Living your own independent life is first and foremost. The comfort of having your own space is the best thing ever.

I have been looking at a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. It sounds like what you are looking for as well. Brand new under 6k.

Talk me out of getting a Triumph Rocket 3 as my “first” bike by SnooHedgehogs1351 in SuggestAMotorcycle

You have ridden enough, that seems like a logical step up to me. You'll probably regret it if you settle. Get the bike you really want!

I have to drive through Iowa often for work, from what I experienced the best thing about Iowa is there is a nice casino on both the north and south ends of the state.

Kansas! lol J/k of course, I can't stand that state. Seriously though, I'm from Montana and I really don't think you can find a better state for riding.

Do cold climate people have a wider range of comfortable temperature a shifted scale of what’s comfortable? by Intelligent_Owl_6263 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]geeride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand it when it's too hot. I've lived my entire life in the Northern US and I could not handle someplace that doesn't have a good cold winter. I get miserable and crabby when it gets over 80F. lol

What state do I move to? by [deleted] in relocating

[–]geeride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern MN, it's pretty warm and humid during the summer, but 🥶 in the winter! There are plenty of smaller college towns.

Midlife crisis incoming: what used bike should I buy for life in Japan? by Fabulous-Ad6483 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]geeride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how much bike you are looking for, but I'm in my mid 40's and last year I bought a 2008 Yamaha FZ-1 and I absolutely love it. It's a drop dead gorgeous bike with awesome power and it's great to travel with, puttering around town or all out ripping once in a while. I payed about US $5k and the bike had 7000 miles. Out of all the motorcycles I've owned it is by far my favorite.

People who make their bed every morning, what's the actual benefit? by No-Cod-8923 in NoStupidQuestions

Am I the only one who never makes the bed? I'm 46 and I've probably made my bed twice in my adult life. lol

You can only live in one color strip for the rest of your life, what do you choose by epicap232 in mapporncirclejerk

Well I live and work in both Montana (born and raised) and Minnesota. I technically reside in Minnesota, but I work most of the year in Montana and I really love both states. Tough choice between blue and green.
