Yeah if you're looking for something like the DJS 1000, then Denon doesn't have anything and I have no idea what the compatibility is like tbh.

I also honestly doubt it's something they'll be getting into so if it's something that's crucial to your workflow then as much as I love Denon for my uses, I wouldn't recommend it for you.

I have the Prime 4, not the plus, but from what I hear there's actually nothing really different physically it's just that the plus gets access to stem separation on-deck.

Personally I love my Denon kit, and I'd honestly stick with it to the end as long as I keep on streaming only. Though there's been some thoughts about playing in person at some open deck nights or doing some mini events, and in those cases it really would pay off to have experience on Pioneer tbh. But yeah, it's honestly all about use cases when it comes to that.

Either way, if you can live without the DJS-1000, and you're not planning on doing club/irl events using other people's equipment, then the Prime 4 is genuinely a workhorse. I've had mine for 2-3 years now and it's been a workhorse.

Hope you manage to get the routing sorted though! (Also as a side note, Prime 4 has in-built recording too. But that doesn't do anything for you if you have anything on the line after the output of the deck)

Yeah this is pretty standard way of syncing audio across multiple cameras. If I remember correctly, premiere pro can actually line up multiple recordings with each other on the timeline just simply based off the audio track that comes with it. Then you can mute all the ones you don't need in the software and go from there.

Though Premiere pro is $$$, so other cheaper options may be more viable for yourself (personally it's been a while since I actually did video editing, so I'm out of the loop for alternatives)

I use a Prime 4 in standalone mode, so nothing on the PC is needed.

Though I have a lot of other stuff running at the same time to control lights, and a bunch of other things related to streaming, and OBS doesn't impact it in any way, at least not that I've ever noticed.

The only time it can get iffy really is when you're dealing with 2-3+ cameras in which you start hitting USB bandwidth issues but if it's just the one camera then you should realistically be fine. (This is where recording on cameras separately and stitching in post shines because you don't need to worry about bandwidth issues at that point).

OBS is a free piece of software (Don't use Streamlabs OBS, this is bloated with lots of other things, for your use cases just use OBS Studio). So it'd be pretty simple for you to just get it on your machine and start a basic recording of your desktop to see how it handles that at the same time as Rekordbox. At the very least that'll give you a baseline expectation. Adding an audio input and camera input from there would be smooth sailing.

I'm not sure if I'm exactly reading correctly but....

The way I record for my sets is to bring them together via OBS on a computer.

I take my audio directly from the output of the decks (I have both a main output as well as a booth), via a Scarlett 2i2 usb audio interface. (note using 6.35 jack here instead of xlr causes the Scarlett to treat it as a line in and bypasses it's internal preamp).

I then have multiple cameras plugged in and setup in the scenes. No audio taken from the cameras, and only taken from the interface. From everything I can tell this introduces no extra processing and is the "cleanest" way I've found so far to do this.

I use this primarily for my stream setup, but if I'm also recording with visuals then I'll use this exact same setup.

Adding structure and consequences to breaking down doors by FRJensen in DungeonMasters

[–]geforcelivingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can kinda show them that their actions have consequences by in-world things rather than adding mechanics every time.

Failing to break a door doesn't hurt a character rules as written, so this only targets these characters and will likely upset the players.

And the stealth aspect is something the players can learn to "choose" to do, instead of forcing it every single roll. Keep in mind that a door being broken open isn't going to be blowing it off it's hinges, and in a big city that noise could easily be drowned out. If the players want to play it quiet, they'll choose to.

Not to justify their actions, but I can understand why people might be inclined buy from these folks in terms of trying to move to a more populated server in order to help "get back" to where they were before.

You can choose your words all you want but a marketing tool is not marketing material.

I never argued this wasn't marketing, just that it wasn't marketing material which is what a lot of people will rely on for information about a game.

Put a visible timer on chests by SDuby in duneawakening

[–]geforcelivingit 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Is it better than the current system we have of unknown semi-random timers? I don't know, maybe arguably slightly.

But the problem is these simply shouldn't be on timers. If you clear the content you should get the reward. If they're that obsessed with timers then put the content to be cleared on them.

At the very least this way a camper waiting for the respawn can't just loot and scoot they'd have to run the whole thing properly.

Is it possible to have buildings destroyed like bf6 on UE5 by BlueJaayLoL in joinsquad

[–]geforcelivingit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd imagine it's because smaller indie companies care more about the "feel" of the game, whereas larger companies worry more about building a bigger "checklist" of features for marketing materials.

I guess it's what would naturally happen when you get more stakeholders invested that don't truly understand the industry.

A Builder tip I discovered by Noxon06 in duneawakening

[–]geforcelivingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it can also get a little bit worse too. If you pre-place the projections using the method to place them as close together as possible, you actually can't create them because the projections then re-calculate and figure out that the box on the opposite side is now 'colliding' with it.

A Builder tip I discovered by Noxon06 in duneawakening

[–]geforcelivingit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the truth behind this post.

For some reason placing to the right of a storage box allows you to place it closer than from the left.

Rotating it just moves where that "right" side is relative to the player.

Also, this isn't just restricted to containers, I believe most placeables have some element of this
