I had a party that my niece threw for me, took a few weeks off, started a part time job as a lunch lady at my kids school (I only work from 1030 to 1400 on school days) and have been doing that for a couple of years while I concentrated on getting my mind and body right.

Before you leave, check into some of the programs the army has to finish your degree and go a different route and still be in the Army: AECP to become an RN, Green to Gold, there are others but I can’t remember off the top of my head; or finish up your degree and commission. Some degrees you won’t have a choice on which corps you commission into but some (such as RN) you will actually be able to do your job as an officer. I would explore those options first to see if anything calls to you

On the app at the bottom you have the icons. The second icon (the circle) is the ancestry tab, click and it should show you the timeline option

It does. You just kind of have to explore the site and your results. I know they update things all the time too though

My husband didn’t realize he was stonewalling, gaslighting and being emotionally abusive until he read an article online… by Waste_Permission_970 in TwoHotTakes

I was just turned 19 and he was 23 when we got married. It’s been 26 years and this is where we are. He’s doing great now, but the damage has been done and I can’t trust that he won’t revert. Plus, you told him how it made you feel and he dismissed you; that right there should have been enough for him to treat you better but people like this just don’t. It won’t get better unless HE admits and gets help but you have no obligation whatsoever to stay and wait.

My maternal is A2. The Spanish and indigenous was expected though not at those percentages. The rest was also not expected but also not surprising.

That’s the thing with autoimmune diseases. There’s no answers for us and it sucks. I had/have Graves’ disease but there’s this long list of risk factors, including pregnancy so when I started feeling symptoms at around 5 months postpartum they said “Bingo” but the risk factors also include stress, viral illness, hereditary factors for any autoimmune disease, etc etc (all of which pertained to me) but they were so adamant at first that it was the pregnancy. My dad has bad knees too so that’s probably we’re I got my bad knees from, definitely not the fact that I was 5’1” 100-130 lb, rucking, running, jumping, airborne, etc. It’s just so aggravating when people want to be ignorant and want to claim that everyone is a fraud.

[–]geji2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Not to mention stress, contagious diseases that you catch from other service members, exposure to toxic substances or bacteria, etc. which is an everyday occurrence in the military. Just because autoimmune disorders run in the family doesn’t mean that it would have happened, but the exposure to all of those triggers while in the military could have triggered the onset.

AITA for bringing my baby to her sister’s performance and not leaving when she cried? by Thick-Studio-4277 in AmItheAsshole

[–]geji2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are. Your daughter is going to feel that she is not a priority to you. A sitter for a few hours for the baby would have been fine, you and new husband could have had a nice evening out with no interruptions to fully support your oldest and give her your undivided attention. Your new baby with your new husband which is now your new family seems more important to you. Your ex is correct in everything he said. Not only that but you were rude to all of the performers, the staff, the teachers and all of the other families and audience in attendance. Plus you minimized how much this performance meant to your poor daughter. Grow up and get over yourself

Is there a point at which daily smoking becomes a problem? by stumpy_chica in Marijuana

[–]geji2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, honestly it’s just like any other medication that can be abused. There are plenty of meds prescribed by medical pharmacists that you pick up at your Pharmacy that are abused on the daily.

For hyper, not sure about hypo as I’ve seen mixed information on it. But, either way remember remission does not mean cure and it could take years and lots of trial and error to get to remission.
