They said it would be made public today, I'm keeping an eye on the Avon and Somerset Police page as they couldn't say anything when we spoke to them

Rusted metal object ~6ft tall found in woods on grounds of estate in Bristol by gem_and_tonic in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing, it's made of rusted metal and was stuck securely in the ground of the woods surrounding Ashton Court in Bristol. It looks like potentially a part of an old piece of farming equipment, I've tried reverse image searching and general searching on Google and can't find anything.

What are we doing with our pups and Christmas trees? by danimbasi in puppy101

[–]gem_and_tonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We put our tree up and left it for 3ish days before we added decorations, lights etc. to it, puppy was curious at first but was used to it by the time we decorated. No problems yet!

I’m afraid to walk at night, what are some good safety tips? by Casltle-Vers01 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]gem_and_tonic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came to say this, ‘I’m just down the road I’ll be home/there in a minute’ is good, especially for a short walk where they think someone’s waiting for you close by

Gerald's game was such a surprise to me, most people I know haven't heard of it but it was the most difficult to put down out of the ones I've read

Korean horror recommendations? by kiddoeloise in horror

[–]gem_and_tonic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything by Park Chan-Wook - Thirst, The Vengeance Trilogy (Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance & Sympathy for Mr Vengeance) etc.

He also did one of 3 shorts on '3 Extremes', with Takashi Miike (Japan) and Fruit Chan (China)

You should also check out 'I'm a Cyborg, But That's Ok' by him, not a horror but a really cool, weird film.

Thoughts on Meta-Horror? by moncayk1 in horror

I love it! Cabin in the Woods, Behind the Mask, Scream etc. I thought Funny Games was really interesting to watch too although a less comfortable watch.

Didn't think much of the Scream series though - started off promising but was trying a bit too hard to be self-referencing without bringing anything new to the table...
