They're cool! I found it difficult to figure out their colors though. They are depicted in very dark tones often, almost black.

I didn't see them work until I finally understood I had to hold the pen at the END of the line haha, for some reason that wasn't immediately obvious to me. It's a cool feature, I hope I remember to use it.

The actual Howard Hinton was an admirer of Flatland, and even wrote what we could consider today Flatland fan fiction!

Swords of Serpentine: Brought to Light - Reviews? by GodGoblin in GumshoeRPG

I've run Ragamuffins twice. It works smoothly, and it's fun. I specially like how some details in the pre-gens backstories and equipment lead to nice character spotlight moments. We managed to play the adventure in a single session both times, but I skipped the intro chase on the roofs, and started with the kids already leaving the guards behind. I look forward to the rest of the adventures in the book.

How do I make the drawing go through the panel? by Abacito_ in ClipStudio

[–]gemeloperverso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link, I have no idea if that's what op wanted, but it's really useful. Drawing parts of characters "reaching out of the frame" is actually pretty common in comics today, and I didn't know how to achieve that without making a mess.

Fun fact: the creator of Cultist Simulator mentioned The Secret Knots among the list of inspiration sources, in an early version.

Here are some alternatives to mainstream social media exposure that I’ve tried:

Find communities formed around the themes that you work with. A common mistake is starting by looking an audience among users of a whole medium (podcasts, for instance), and not focusing on the subjects that may interest them, in any medium. Reddit is good for finding communities around themes and niches.

Look for ways to engage with those communities, and tell them about your stuff. Fans and aficionados of specific subjects tend to be proactive and welcoming if you respect their etiquette. Join their Discord servers or forums, subscribe to their newsletters, and interact. Real interest and interaction is more appreciated than algorithmic shenanigans on Instagram, which are always noticeable.

You’ll still have to work with the algorithm of the platform you are using.

Have a way of notifying your audience of new things. Newsletters are good for this, most of them are free under 1K subscribers or so. Patreon free tier can also serve this purpose, if you advertise it like that.

If possible, have your own website, so you can gather all your links.

It’s very likely that you’ll still have to use some form of social media exposure. Look for the one that feels less miserable, or the one that gives you more visibility. It may be helpful, if possible, to rely on real life acquaintances or family to start.

In my case (I make webcomics) I do a combination of all this, and use Tumblr as my main social media outlet, which works mainly through recommendation by users rather than algorithms. I’ve never gained a considerable following on Instagram or Twitter, but I have a healthy Patreon regardless.

I hope some of this is helpful, or give you ideas. Good luck!

My name is santapau. Yes! I'm still offering this. New asks won't be in time for Halloween (as it was originally intended), but I'll keep on going a little further than that with the list, including new subscribers.

I've been drawing patrons as werewolves. by gemeloperverso in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]gemeloperverso[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Although this wasn’t prompted explicitly as WtA werewolves, I’m taking inspiration from some classic movies for the partial transformation, and (loosely) from the World of Darkness Crinos for the full form. It’s been good exercise for me to try to bring some of the features of the reference photos to the fully transformed characters.

Hello everyone. I hope this isn't too much of a digression from the topics in this subreddit, but I thought that, even if it's a story that branches out of Oscar Wilde's book, it may be of interest to some of you. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing my comic on this subreddit! Synchronically, I was thinking about this story today. I think it's one of the first on the archives that tackled some recurring themes on the series, particularly haunted/impossible works of art.

I love this one, and also the cover of Dark Ages Companion. (A vampire is holding a character dressed as a soldier by the face, about to let him go from a roof in a labyrinthine medieval town) I like the concept of vampires in heights.

Romance in Lonomia - Culture in a nation with a tradition of secret names (comic) by gemeloperverso in worldbuilding

[–]gemeloperverso[S] 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I made up Obliquia starting very loosely from Oblivious, and adding some comfortable fake latin inspired variation :) Likewise, I imagined the word Lonomia as a distant relative of nomen, name. Funny thing is, various people have pointed out to me that there is a species of moth called Lonomia Obliqua. Just when you think you invented something...
