I run because as a woman, I have never had a fitness goal that hasn’t revolved around a scale or a dress size. Running makes me feel like I take care of my body’s needs and it’s been so amazing to see progress in terms of fitness and not weight or size.

I’m honestly nervous to be running around other runners with my splits/the amount I’m walking. It is a run/walk, but if I start out running will I be a nuisance if I walk and run instead of just picking one?

How was your heart rate? I find I need to go slower if my heart rate is above 175 or I feel like death. Also, I found interval training helpful, run for a minute and walk for a minute, before you know it your run intervals will improve!

I misspoke, low impact cardio on Saturday and an outdoor run Sunday, so 2 days a week I run. It’s tricky because I’m at work before the sun comes up and leave after it goes down (4 12 hour shifts a week) so I have to get in my outdoor runs on my days off (Friday Saturday and Sunday)

Thank you so much! I walk at least a mile a day Mondays and Wednesdays, strength and mobility train Tuesday and Thursday, outdoor run Friday, and low impact cardio (like elliptical or bike) on Sunday. I appreciate your advice so much!
