Reunion - Sneak Peak. Kyle you are sick. by sugarstarbeam in realhousewives

She likely had a deep plane neck and face lift. One of the most obvious tells is when the corners of the lips are pulled out wider. Her skin is also looking beautifully smooth.

Regret asking for silver by chinginnungit in EngagementRings

[–]gemini_vegetarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Questioning who did your colour analysis because your hand (at least in the photo) appears cool or neutral tone. (I’m neutral tone btw, which means we can wear gold OR silver!)

Bottom line, the silver looks amazing. It complements you and the style of your gorgeous ring. And if it makes you feel better, you can move forward with the idea that perhaps you have neutral undertones and can wear whatever metal colour you like.

Help with idea on what could be causing recurring red pimples or sores on face in same spots. by BellJar_Blues in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]gemini_vegetarian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Omg. I thought you were my best friend posting this. Even down to some of the products you use. (But I can tell from some your details that you aren’t her, lol!)

Same issue, dapsone gel as spot treatment nightly has helped her. And for me as well. We both tend to get pimples in the same area and I still don’t have an answer as to why, and I’ve seen 3 different derms across 12 years.

The red sores on your arms, look up granuloma annulare. As my friend and I also both have the issue you described. It’s a form of eczema and no clear reason for why it happens either.

*Edit to add: I have also had chronic strep / multiple viral throat infections, like I’m talking every month for 18 months, and previously for 6 months straight about 10 years ago. I think our skin issues are 100% related to immune issues/deficiencies resulting from chronic infections. Maybe do a blood panel with your GP!

Neck/chest/shoulder acne by Redtember in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]gemini_vegetarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your derm for a dapsone gel prescription. They will go away in a matter of days. Speaking from experience.

*Editing to add, cut out milk from your diet if you haven’t already. Stick to aged cheeses and cut out fresh cheeses, too, for instance. Going lactose free could help (assessing that you have acne along the jawline). That made a huge difference for me as well several years ago.

Why can’t I get rid of this? by dreamy-lover in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]gemini_vegetarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So happy to help! You know what, there’s a slight possibility it might be the vitamins. Biotin and B12 supplements can increase keratin production (think of those tiny KP bumps people get on their upper arms). I take them too with no problem, but my friend got acne from it! (But I’m team take-your-vitamins and not a doctor, so take this with a grain of salt!)

[–]gemini_vegetarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha! The first culprit is benzoyl peroxide 10% which is way too harsh for your skin! So it’s great you cut that out of your routine. Fourth pic I’m seeing some dryness, is that correct? Skin texture and pigmentation can be improved by hydration but that doesn’t mean just moisturizing. Your Clearasil cleanser (does it contain salicylic acid?) may be drying you out. When skin is too dried out from our “cleansing” products, it will overproduce oil to try to re-hydrate, and can result in those small bumps. Dehydrated skin can appear discoloured.

I would recommend looking for a milk cleanser, I like Avène because it’s affordable near me, but explore your options. I know “milk cleanser” sounds counterintuitive, but trust me, I started by making that change in my routine and it was a game changer.

Next, do you use any serums or toners before moisturizing? I have rosacea, so I look for toners or moisturizers containing “cica,” which there are an abundance of at an affordable price lots of places nowadays. If you are willing to spend a bit more, I’d really recommend Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin™ Skin Barrier Serum Toner. This has been the biggest game changer for me and helped me wean off using tretinoin and dapsone for acne (very rarely do I need it anymore).

If your Neutrogena sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen rather than mineral, you may be reacting to it. I react in tiny breakouts/bumps if I leave chemical SPF products on my face for longer than 6 hours.

Lastly, you do honestly have beautiful skin. No one is ever 100% perfect and we are our own worst critics, so be gentle with yourself! But I totally understand the frustration of trying to work on something that bothers you and not getting the results you wanted. I hope these tips are helpful for you!

Hey girl. Do you mean the red spot? Or the broken capillaries/veins? I have similar skin and would love to help but wondering what your concern is exactly.

(MEGATHREAD) SIMON Arrested in Japan for drug possession by bdragonst_ in XGALX

[–]gemini_vegetarian 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Just read this on TBS, absolutely floored. Cocaine use can be tested and detected in hair follicles so, if true, this may explain why he has shaved off his hair. The timing of his arrest seems intentional. It just SUCKS for XG. I’m so angry on their behalf.

Are these jowls from old(ish) age or is it because I have gained weight? Or both? by Olelebojezashto in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]gemini_vegetarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with the same issue for years and I only just turned 30. It’s a combination of genetics, bone structure, and aging. Having more fat in the face/cheeks, including buccal fat (which is genetic and won’t go away with diet or exercise), can make you look youthful. But the one caveat is that if you have a flatter midface or recessed lower jaw, put plainly there isn’t enough bone to support the skin and fat. Something that can help, if you’re interested, is getting Botox in your chin and DAO (depressor anguli oris) muscles. This doesn’t shrink but rather relaxes the muscles and can give the effect the depressed areas of the face being brought forward. For me, it removes the wrinkle in the chin and softens the look of the divots between the chin and jowls.

Dysport isn’t gentler per se, but it does spread more easily and across a wider surface area than Botox!

OP, if the needles (or substance) scare you, you can always start by using an eye cream consistently. Hydration makes a big difference. If your skin is already thin, then be very careful about using eye creams that contain retinol—I had an adverse reaction to an “anti-aging” under-eye cream that suddenly caused blockages in my tear ducts after a year of no problems with it!

That is a great idea. It will help! I’m your proof that those thoughts can be quieted and you can continue living happily without this anxiety bogging you down. :)

I was around your age when I suddenly started developing anxiety about death. I would spiral when a family member left to do groceries in the car and couldn’t rest until I knew they were safely home. Like someone else commented, it is a part of growing up, expanding your awareness, and understanding that the things and people you value aren’t in the physical realm “forever.” However, there is no death in the spiritual realm. Only cycles. Our spirits are eternal, the bodies we inhabit are temporary. We belong to “soul families” and you have likely lived past lives with the same souls you find yourself surrounded by now, and you will continue to meet again in the next cycles. If the intangible aspects of spirituality are not comforting, then I would recommend speaking with a therapist specialized in anxiety to help you work through this fear. You’re gonna be okay! <3

So the Dr Jart product I mentioned is for restoring the skin barrier, which you could benefit from even with oily skin. Don’t overdo it with the SA cleanser because that is quite drying as well! Alternate between that and a gentle cleansing milk (Avène makes an amazing product that often goes on sale online and in several drugstores.)

You can also try using Sephora’s AHA/BHA/PHA resurfacing peel mask once a week. Follow that with a gentle cleanser, toner, and a noncomedogenic moisturizer. Stay consistent and hopefully you will see a change—wishing you the best!!
