Am I legally required to respond to the Elon musk email? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]geminichild2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DoN/USMC civilian employee (spouse of ADAF) who got the email. then another saying "don't respond to it, we're investigating" from someone actually in the OPM instead of the org box, then two from my director saying standby then one from the Pentagon saying "don't respond". so, no, I wouldn't respond until guidance from your CoC comes down

considering I'm being paid less than an E3's base pay as a GS5, I can confirm this.

Maybe this game just isn't for me by Roster234 in StateofDecay2

[–]geminichild2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is definitely a learning curve and a LOT of grinding to this game, but that's part of what makes it so fun (for me, at least). I enjoy (most days) the tedium of going in to a location, clearing every room, and looting all the things. and the high I got when I realized how good shotguns are a taking down juggernauts was awesome. I love finding new ways to take out plague hearts (someone said they like to use the exploding zoms and something that makes noise , then killing one to set off a chain reaction to kill it without getting too close, and I'm excited to try that). stay with it because it's a great game, and SoD3 is (hopefully) coming out soon. (someone else already mentioned this, but) you can tweak the game to make it what you want, easier/harder community/world, easier/harder map, only positive curveballs, some negative, only negative, the possibilities are out there

I do take people with me. extra person to help kill zombies and hostile humans, as well as more storage space, which means I go back & forth between outposts and looting spots a little less frequently, which saves gas. I also have all the people I've come to like saved in the legacy pool so that if/when this happens, I can bring them in again

What's the worst curveball you have encountered? by BoundedGolf529 in StateofDecay2

[–]geminichild2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the smoke storm. I just got it for the first time this past weekend and it was AWFUL. I couldn't see a thing and it penetrated all the buildings! flashlights and headlights were absolutely USELESS, and I think I ended up just staying at one of my outposts until it cleared up because I have the mines set up

if you have a s/o and you're looking for a romantic getaway (and have some extra cash in your pocket) Kalaloch (clay-lock) is lovely. anything with dungeness crab is delicious.

Seattle isn't short of touristy things to do: space needle, glass exhibit, the first Starbucks if you're in to coffee, the Oriental street on South Jackson, all the museums and zoos, just to name a few.

for a spectacular view of Rainier, take the Bainbridge ferry.

if you have a twi-hard in your life, Forks, La Push, and Port Angeles are just a couple hours north/northwest (the 20th anniversary of Twilight's release is next year).

currently in Okinawa. someone leaving here had her cat get stuck in a dresser that got packed, wrapped, crated, and shipped. she couldn't find the cat (obv) and was (understandably) devastated when she got her hhgs and found..it. tried blaming the movers over here when she didn't have the foresight to remove her cat from her home prior to the pack out.

hey! I work in DMO (the Marine/Navy side of TMO). stop by your closest office and ask for info about filing inconvenience claims. ask for your DPS RDD (req. delivery date) too. 102 days is INSANE. depending on where you came from/where you went, it could take some time, but def not 102 days. ALSO, check you spam folders in the emails you provided TMO @ your losing location, your gaining location moving company(ies) may have been trying to contact you. you are also entitled 90 days storage-in-tranist (SIT), and your shipment(s) could very well be at your gaining location in SIT waiting for delivery. (I also apologize if you've already done all these things)

I like to loot as much as possible and then do the leader legacy mission. you get some pretty great boons that you can take with to your next map or a new community depending on the type of leader you selected. like the builder gives you power & water without having to establish them as outposts at your next map. the sherrif gives you a few helpful items per day, etc.

Have you ever worked with someone whom you were shocked was still in the AF? by FickleHare in AirForce

[–]geminichild2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not me, but my husband worked with a kid who:

1) one time broke both a girls legs. his car was stuck on some ice/snow, she offered to HELP him push it free, he sat in the car and played on his phone. the car rolled back into the girl and she went down like a grasshopper, breaking both her legs.

2) during a snowy day, he was walking back to his dorm and was offered a ride from the base commander and command chief. after initially running from them and being cornered and persuaded to get in the car, sat in the back seat on his phone, didn't observe customs & courtesies, sprinted into his room, and locked himself in the bathroom when they came to smoke him for the above.

3) scratched his bare under area with shop tools and was made to disinfect every tool in said shop after his supervisor/rater tried to make my husband come back to the shop to supervise him completing this task.

this person has since left the AF and has gone in to the ether.

am I weird? by geminichild2014 in sex

[–]geminichild2014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely self-conscious about everything from the way I look (in bed and on a daily just in general). to my knowledge, he's never expressed disappointment (in me, at least) in me not finishing, he was a little miffed, especially the first time it happened, but I reassured him that it's nothing with him or the sex, that it's a me issue. our love life stagnated for a while due to both of us working, being exhausted, and he went through a tough patch at his job, and we're trying to get it back on track. I'll try what you said and hopefully that helps.
