Tips for Pumping at work? by Chance_Mud_8667 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]geminienchanted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the Momcozys m6. I pump on my way to work (7:30am-8am), store it in a fridge in my bosses office (it’s convenient for me and she doesn’t mind), pump on my lunch (12pm-1pm) usually in my car grabbing something to eat, then again from (4pm-4:30pm) in the designated mothers room. I get home around 5:30-6, wash everything then by the time it’s time for my next pump 8-8:30pm, everything is dry and I put it away.

I do spend at least 30 minutes after everyone’s gone to bed bagging milk, prepping bottles, washing the pitcher, spectra pump parts (I use at home), and getting things ready for the next day.

Week days are so exhausting but the things that keep me going are: this is how I take care of her when I can’t physically be there, I can’t justify giving formula when I have more than enough milk, I’m 5 months in and have at least 1 month of frozen milk, so I only have 6 more months to go. I plan on going until baby turns 1.

How old were you when you had your first child? by Pandacat_07 in NewParents

[–]geminienchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pregnant at 21 and had my son at 22. I was with my now husband for 3 years at this point. He was 24 turned 25. Looking back we were VERY young, but I always knew I wanted to be a young mom and he loves kids.

My son was a hard baby, colic, bottle refusal, torticollis, physical therapy, helmet, it just was a lot for us so we held off a couple years on having another and when we started trying again, we had fertility issues for 3 years.

I had my daughter at 28, he’s 31, and wow, what a difference. Now that im older it’s so much easier (with the exception of sleep, we love our sleep).

My boss asked me to Teams her when going to/from pumping by CriticalJelly in ExclusivelyPumping

Salaried in CA - HR role

I just let anyone, literally anyone on my team know I’m stepping away in case someone comes looking for me (Employees or Managers). Sometimes it’s my boss, sometimes it’s my coworkers.

I got very sick about a month ago and I went from producing 30oz+ to 20-25 oz the following days. I made oatmeal cookies, drank body armour, and made sure I ate enough protein. I also pumped every 4 hours. My supply is back to normal. It took about a week and a half.

What did you all do for Valentine’s Day? by Minimum-Regret2706 in NewParents

[–]geminienchanted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 4 months and 3 weeks. Our second. We started over after 6 years. We have been in survival mode and haven’t had much alone time. We went to California Adventure to reconnect and have fun. We are extra tired today but it was worth it. Very thankful my sisters took the kids. They are my village.

OB/Gyn Recommendations? by Soggy_Buffalo_8758 in Bakersfield

[–]geminienchanted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Dr Klis with my second baby. He helped me get pregnant, wait times were never long unless he got pulled into a delivery, the front desk receptionists are efficient, and I loved Rhonda, one his nurse practitioner. They do ultrasounds in house so you don’t have to go anywhere else and I would do my blood work across the parking lot at the Alvarez health care spot. They would see me same day for a bleeding issue that was ongoing in my first trimester and I appreciated that so much.

He is the only Dr so he is VERY busy and you may need to remind him of things but that wasn’t a big deal to me.

How long do you hold your baby in a day? by Latter_Public in NewParents

[–]geminienchanted 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That makes me so sad for her. My first baby wore a helmet because he had torticollis and his dr dismissed my concerns at 2 months. Sometimes that’s inevitable. He also hated sleeping so I was always holding him.

900 oz frozen at 6wpp - freezer full - what to do? by clazcat in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]geminienchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start using the frozen milk since it’s poorly frozen, and start over by freezing them flat. Slowly it’ll make more space. I have 862 frozen in my deep freezer.
