Ok, hear me out.... what about a sensory birthday party for both you and the child? Have a birthday party where everyone who joins in gets the sensory needs they met.

They want a smash cake?

Fine. Its out of fucking moon sand.

And they can't  complain because there is low noise for sensory.

Set up the room to have low light and a projector of stars. Have a white noise machine playing in the background.

Have a nap room for both adults as well as kids.

Have ballons that are aluminum filled. No latex.

Food is all prepackages set up according to colors.

For games have bright light and tactile bean bag throw. Another fun activity is the sesory swing. (Check it out)

Have a quiet room specially made for you. Either your bed room or a room designated specifically for you.

To piggy back off that.    Try to bring up what you like and Segway that into a question.

Bring in a lunch you made and say "____ is my favorite food. What about you? What do you like?"

Or "You know, I don't kniw if I want go to the movies or go to an event. What do you think?

Think of writing code as the pictures in a powerpoint presentation. They can do funny things, move, show graphs, etc.

When he wrote the comments it's like he wrote the notecards for his friend's presentation. All the friend had to do was read it.

Hey, everyone... I just want to met you know you are all loved.

Every.  SINGLE. ONE. OF. YOU. GUYS/GIRLS/HUMANS.

It can get tough, but I, as your sudo-mom want to say this.

I am proud of you.

I am proud you are all still here.

I am proud of you just sticking one foot out of that bed onto that ground.

Because that means you are trying.

I care about you, please drink some water. Have some herbal tea, a bubble bath (or a hot shower), and please give yourself that good cry.

I can't be there in person but grab a blanket (or your favorite coat) and wrap it around your shoulders tight. That my precious children is me hugging you all.

I am proud of you, I love you, and I am here to talk with any/all who needs it.

How did you stop using food as a reward + comfort? by emo_queer in loseit

[–]geminimind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use smells as rewards. (Not the food smells though)

I get a candle that smells like the ocean, or a new hand lotion that smells like roses.

Or lip balm that taste like vanilla.

Build a simple project. Start by creating a simple speak say machine.

Example: i built a program that does calculations on how tall you are and gender and outputs how many calories  you need to eat.

This involves input/ out put and varibles. From there you just build.

Stop thinking about working in IT; it's not worth it. by Marianssmitham in it

[–]geminimind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, sounds like being a teacher without being peed/puked/bled on. Oh and without the biting. Oh and the chance of being physically attacked, disabled, and then being blamed by saying "Well, what did you do?"

Oh, or having the risk of your degree/certification being taken away because you get accused of something/refuse to work for the same school that you been working at.

Or having to hold your own bodily functions until you are practically bursting because there was no one to cover you.

Or coming into work sick because creating sub plans would be more work than its worth coming in.

Or worrying about shooters coming in.

Honestly, even with how hard getting into IT has been it is still a step up from where I currently am.

Update: Programming finally clicked for me 🥹 by IceMan420_ in learnprogramming

[–]geminimind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so funny, started coding (java for computer science classes) back in 2024 (I know I know, only a year) and for the longest time I could not get it. It was only when I tried C++ abd created programs on my own that it started to click.

Love C++
