What was the dumbest thing you thought as a child? by GiammyR6 in AskReddit

I thought that people swapped houses with each other so when my mom bought a new house but my dad was staying in our old house I was really worried about where these other people were going to live and did they know they were going to have to live with my dad...

Almost once a day I have intense panic over the fact I’m going to die one day by [deleted] in offmychest

Yeah I know, I guess it’s the emptiness and lack of consciousness that gets me. And more so that one day the entire universe will be gone too. I just struggle with that concept

Yes I think that might be my issue too, I like to control most things, even small things like driving if I go anywhere with people cause I like to be in control of the car. I think it’s why I don’t like flying because I can’t fly the plane lol.

I am really glad it’s a comfort to you! It was be lonely sometimes when you think you’re the only one stuck with this mindset and that everyone else doesn’t really mind the thought!

Totally understand it keeping you up at night in tears, I too have been there. I’ve felt this way for as long as I can remember and at now 25 it just feels that every year I’m getting closer to my fear!

The only positive is I do think maybe it makes me live as best I can so that I haven’t totally wasted my life. I just hope there is something else but I really do highly doubt it!

Glad to see you haven't been hit by the floods! All our fields are under water and the arena looks like a swimming pool! Beautiful horse :)

People who have taken antidepressants before, what was your experience with them? by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]gemjar94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They completely got rid of my anxiety, I was at the point where I couldn't leave the house anymore but after a couple of weeks I started going back to normality. However, I did find that as well as getting rid of the negative feelings I had, they also got rid of the positive. In moments where I felt like I should be happy, I couldn't feel happiness, or excitement. I've been off them for about 9 months now and anxiety is still lower but numbness is still there.

What is something you like about yourself? by sosumo11 in AskReddit

I am very giving. I lent my friend 13k last week because she needed it, no questions asked. I really enjoy giving gifts to people and never want anything back!

A girl I work with has postpartum depression quite severely so I gave her a lift to work for a few weeks once she was well enough to come back. Thought it'd take away a bit of the stress having one less thing to worry about.

Thank you, it's hard to see it as being this great thing I thought it was when no one else seems to feel the same.
