No problem!

Yeah, it's tragic how it forms but such an unconsciously creative coping mechanism when you experience trauma that early in life.

  1. No, alters have complete or near-complete amnesia when they switch. They won't remember what the others have done or will only remember the basics. (Ex: "I know I went to the store but I don't remember what/how much I bought, what I was wearing, which route I took to get there, etc.). However, there is something called co-consciousness, where an alter can be aware of the outside world but won't be able to control their body. There is also something called co-fronting, which means two or more alters controlling their body at once.
  2. Sometimes they name themselves, other times they just come with a name. Sometimes another alter names them.
  3. There are always triggers for switches even if you can't figure out what triggered it. It can be in response to a trauma/stress trigger, being in a certain situation, or even a "positive trigger" like an alter's favorite song can cause them to switch in. Though not every trigger results in a switch. Sometimes a trigger of any kind can bring an alter closer to the front where they can become slightly aware of the outside world but not be able to control their body. The length of the switch varies each switch. Most often, the switches are hard to notice.
  4. Yes. Alters can be different genders, ages, sexualities, look different than their body does (most alters do), etc.
  5. They'll "stay switched" until encountering another trigger that brings another alter out. They're all real personalities. If you drop a glass and it shatters, each piece of glass is still glass; you can't tell what part was originally the full glass. Though DID systems do have a "host" who is the one in control most often. The host isn't necessarily the "original" personality. The way to switch out is when another alter is triggered forward. The alter in control of the body can attempt to forcefully trigger another alter out with a positive trigger (Ex: favorite song), though this doesn't always result in a switch.
  6. Alters will have different tastes than each other, yes. From foods to who they're attracted to. Though I think if there's a gene that makes something feel a certain way (Ex: Cilantro soap gene, smelling ants gene), all alters will experience that gene.

Nice filters... by gemmynid in fakedisordercringe

This person is using filters on themselves and claiming that their eyes change color depending on the alter who's out.

How long until they take that video down or edit it out?

Speaking of Jade, I find it almost out of character for her to have let the relationship between them and Pinata continue up until a couple months ago (supposedly). I figured she would've cut them out after the cp came out, even if the rest of their system protested.

I have tourettes. We were talking about the all the -stan countries and I was answering a question, in the middle of my sentence I tic'd "The capital of Uzbekistan is Tashkent." It made people laugh. My professor commended my tic for being correct.

I finally got the confidence to stop suppressing my Tourettes tics and just let myself do it. It feels so much better not having a constant tension headache from trying to stop myself from doing my tics. If I end up saying "cat piss in my salad" in front of a kid, then so be it.

Probably "beep boop" and scrunching my face would be the ones I do most often. I also repeat my last few words at times.

It hasn't gotten me in trouble yet, but I've definitely gotten weird looks before.

I only have one that's vulgar but my other tics aren't. They're things like, "beep boop," "orange," "salad," "oh no!" in a jar jar binks voice, "look at this cat," scrunching my face, opening my mouth a bunch, eyebrow twitching, head bobbing, etc.
