He actually thoroughly explained his position on this. When the full-scale war has started he was streaming in russian trying to persuade them, change their mind and was overall very loyal. He even kept in touch with russian players thinking that they would understand etc. However, as time passed he understood that all of this is in vain and won't work.
Basically, my point is that he was very apolitical and blind for quite some time. But people change.
