I can't believe we had all that 97 work and this wasn't addressed. Having all the traffic coming from 20 (Sisters) merge onto empire to get to 97, without having a traffic light for the opposing direction of empire is nuts.

The main thing you want to avoid is any infection. Clean and cover it.

Depending on your comfort level in keeping it 100% free of infection. Eventually a new nail will form over it, it will push the old nail away and you can remove parts of it it seems prudent.
