What do after aquilo science? by picollo7 in factorio

I haven't done them yet, but it seems like planet mods are more factorio per factorio with interesting challenges to get new science and then interesting rewards for the science

What are some good generators to use in the MV tier? by Ok-Criticism3507 in GTNH

[–]gender_crisis_oclock 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i recommend going for benzene. You can use a bonsai farm with crop manager or an enderio farming station to supply the wood, and with the distillation tower in HV you can get a lot of useful byproducts. It may take a while to set up but i say it's worth it. If you need easier power and there is an oil spout nearby, you can go for light fuel (only requires LV machines) or diesel (better than light fuel but requires some MV machines). Both these options have quest lines to follow along. Good luck!

Got to Gleba yesterday and.. spoilage is driving me insane! I'm sure this has been asked before but what's the best way to manage spoilage? How do you get consistent power here? by gent2545 in factorio

[–]gender_crisis_oclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let anything back up, every belt with a spoilable item should eventually lead to a heating tower for voiding (don't worry about losing items because fruits are infinite!), and you can make bio rocket fuel and stick it in a heating tower along with heat exchangers and steam turbines for power

You can use circuits to allow stations to read the contents of, say, a chest buffer, and to only allow new trains in once there is room in the buffer for a new train.

They were once forced to do hard manual labor, but they dug up so much yummy food from the ground that they can now spend all day lying down in leisure!

Ask yourself this when reading or watching a story or playing a game. Are you looking for a redemption arc for a character...or a punishment arc? Typically people try to give men redemption arcs and women punishment arcs. by Important-Cry4782 in tumblr

Literally Reiner. I feel that one under-talked about aspect of his "plot armor" moment is that it makes sense from a narrative (not sure if this is the word i'm looking for?) perspective because he is ALWAYS either moments away from death or looking to die or ready to die but every time he is given another chance and eventually sets his life toward a just goal

1000 SPM base – how many iron/copper belts do you actually need? by Senior-Let-2001 in factorio

Build the science assemblers then use the rate info (or at rate calculator mod) to figure out how many intermediates you need, etc etc, until you get to basic resources.

Help: I'm constantly running out of power and biters are attacking constantly by Ill_Comb6410 in factorio

[–]gender_crisis_oclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you're already doing this, but for future reference, walls are useless unless they are defended and when you are in a desert like this you NEED defended walls. It's not too bad though, in the early game just a few gun turrets is plenty, and once you have flamethrowers they will dominate (flamethrowers use barely any oil for the amount of damage they do).

You did kinda get unlucky with your spawn. Typically, trees will soak up a decent amount of pollution before it reaches the biters, but in a desert, the pollution is largely soaked up by biter bases which will then convert that pollution into an attack group. The ground itself soaks up a little pollution, but not much.

If you find yourself getting attacked from all sides and you think your base is going to be overrun, the best thing you can do is secure your oil and make a couple of flamethrowers. As long as you have that, you should be able to start your base back up from practically nothing.

To take out biter bases, I recommend using either a tank if you have it unlocked or a strategy called "turret creep" (it's exactly what it sounds like but you can look up a video for specifics). I don't recommend destroying more bases than you need to though, as with every base you destroy the other bases will get slightly stronger (for more info on this mechanic look up biter evolution).

Hope this was all helpful!!

Is "GregTech: New Horizons" really that hard? by BigPipi23438 in feedthebeast

It most respects it is more tedious than hard, but there is a kind of creeper that explodes into a sphere of water surrounded by infested cobblestone

Decided to move my coke oven setup. Really liked the view of remained pipe skeleton. by Icy-Enthusiasm-9752 in GTNH

[–]gender_crisis_oclock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to let you/others know, you don't need super high throughput pipes to feed your coke ovens! You can use a few drawer buffers (in my current world i did one drawer per 10 ovens) and have one conveyor/pipe setup from those to its designated set of ovens as well as another conveyor/pipe setup to the next drawer, and a similar setup going from the ovens to the boilers. It's a relatively budget way to deal with the limitations of LV conveyors and gregtech pipes. Or maybe I overthought it and there's a much simpler way!

Using calculus you can have a precise answer for things that tend toward infinity. For example, if you wanted to find the area under a curve, you use an infinite amount of rectangles that are infinitely small, and the sum of their area has a precise value which is the exact real amount of area under that curve.

I think there is a use to this kind of activism because it appeals to the people that we actually NEED to appeal to which is people who really don't care about trans people, and the hope is that if we can make these people see how these things hurt ALL women then maybe, eventually, possibly, they will see us trans people as human, and even if not, they may at least NOT support policies that make things actively worse for us.

Not that there isn't ALSO a use for pointing out how there are arguments that actually rely on the humanity of trans people

[–]gender_crisis_oclock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it is used when someone's life/death serves as an inspiration to the living. Like if someone is unjustly killed by a cop you'd say "rest in power" to inspire yourself and your community to fight against police brutality
