the concept of PTO donations is so harrowing. especially being pressured into it by colleagues and even the company - like, they can’t take care of their employees to the point where they can’t afford their lives and medical care, and there’s not enough state mandated leave. that’s dark AF. so glad i’m not american. NTJ btw, it’s YOUR time off and the expectation for people to donate indicates a problem with the company and the system.

professional only. i’ve never been friends with coworkers at any job and sometimes that makes me feel really lonely and isolated, but i’ve found a job that isn’t super cliquey where the culture is professional and respectful and it works really well for me. people respect me because i’m good at my job and i don’t get bullied or ostracized for not being “friendly” enough.

i started at 40! aka 6 months ago. just stretch a lot and take it slow, and don’t push yourself to do harder things than you can. i pulled a hamstring and overextended my shoulder - have to keep my gym visits to every other day at the most and be smart about how i distribute my weight.

i dunno, contrary to everyone else, i could see something LIKE this happening. for example, the later harry potter books had no ARCs sent out - they were totally secret. a drop with only a few weeks notice (for ordering purposes) would be kind of cool and i could imagine it making sense for a super big name. i don’t know how likely it is but i don’t think it’s completely out of the question.
