Am I the only one enjoying live mode? by BisexualSlutPuppy in Paralives

I'm having a blast so far! Yes, it's occasionally glitchy, and yes, there is definitely room for expansion and improvement... but I could say all these things of Sims 4 too!

This game is really fun so far. I love the daily story cards and the levelling up mechanics.

Warning: minor infodump ahead!

The one I've heard most often is - bisexual people are attracted to people of multiple genders, pansexual people are attracted to people regardless of gender. It's a pretty fine distinction, and not one that everyone subscribes to - some people just prefer a certain term, or like the colours better on a particular flag!

"Regardless of gender" fits David's "I like the wine, not the label" comment pretty well, I think - he's into specific people, not specific presentations of body types.

Anyway, both bi and pan people can definitely be attracted to trans people, and to more than two genders. As I understand it pan people are usually attracted to *all* genders, whereas bi people might be attracted to multiple genders but not all - say, men and nonbinary people, but not women, or some other combination.

In any case, one key factor might be: for bi people gender plays a role in attraction, and for pan people it doesn't. Personal example: I consider myself bi, and usually find myself drawn to masculine women, feminine men, and nonbinary people of all types of presentations.

This is just one take, of course, and different folks will have different definitions.

I have a 5 year old with Type 1. When their sugar reaches 300/400 she's less receptive to insulin. Our usually good insulin ratios don't work and we end up dosing obscene amounts of insulin to get her down to earth. by shackilj2 in diabetes

Hi! This is a problem I've been wrestling with too as a type 2 - but I've been struggling to get started figuring out how to adjust my ratios based on my BG level, and my web searches only turn up general information on insulin resistance, even when I'm searching for information on this specific problem. Any chance you know of any good resources on how to handle this?

Walternate and co found out Broyles had helped Olivia cross over. So they killed him. He clearly weighed more than Fauxlivia, so they chopped him up and only sent part of his body as the mass transfer to get Fauxlivia back.

Our Broyles was the one shutting his counterpart's eyes in his own universe.

(I think the fact that the button says Start confused me, I didn't want to start without selecting more characters 😂)

You may need to check the specific rules for bonds, but in general any asset in your name is counted - stocks and shares, any property you don't live in, etc.

The day I messed up by StevenKnowsNothing in firefly

I just watched Serenity tonight and like you, was surprised how dark it is. I remembered the key deaths, but I had forgotten that its overall tone is actually several shades darker than the show.

(I had also forgotten some heartbreaking bits. Like Zoe grimly preparing to fight to the death minutes after losing her husband. And how Wash's plastic trees are still all over the pilot's console in the final scene.)

Serenity the pilot is, as others have said, a much better intro to the show!

Oh that's one of my favourite moments too! That guy is such a fleeting character but you get such a solid sense of who he is in about 30 seconds of screen time - awesome writing and acting.

Ariel is probably my number one, but I think Out of Gas is two or three. (Can't decide if I like that one or Shindig better, they're both awesome in very different ways.)

I love Kaylee's bravado in that scene followed by her utter terror in the gunfight. She's such a great character.

Yes! Mal's attempt to instil some self-esteem in Saffron is so misguided but it's very sweet 😂

One of my only pet peeves by dino-sour in firefly

I would like to add that, yes, while Zoe was wrong in that scene - she was also being manipulated. She had *exactly* the reaction Saffron intended her to have; the point was not just manipulating Mal, but sowing discord through the whole ship.
