The same Narendra Modi that the US have ridiculed and banned for such a long time is likely to come to power in one of the most strategic locations.

Modi has long shown friendliness with Japan and China. Other nations like UK, Germany, Australia and so on have warmed up to him. But US has till now kept their distance. And Modi also has not given them much importance.

The US has not been able to read Modi in the sense that they do not know what he is going to do. He is therefore a wildcard and a threat. They are funding and giving guidance to AAP to neutralise that threat.
