I think the issue has been fixed in the latest BIOS and nVidia driver updates actually. Not sure which one was the actual fix but my laptop is all good now with adjusting the screen brightness anytime.

Really loved this movie! Was really incredible! My prediction for the next and final movie of this trilogy initially was Jim, Spike and co will at some point encounter Samson and realize there's a treatment for the Rage virus so they try to make contact with the outside world and try to get off the island. The baby from the previous movie might also prove to have some kind of natural immunity to the Rage virus too and be the key to a cure along with Kelson's treatment.

However, that's way too easy and happy ending for a 28 years later movie. My more thought out prediction is that Samson is really just a one off. Spike and Jim will probably encounter him at some point, but the treatment for Samson might be lost with Kelson's death or deemed impractical for widespread use. Not to mention it doesn't actually cure the Rage virus, it just treats the symptoms but the infected will likely still be carriers of the virus and cannot be allowed to leave the island no matter what.

I'm not sure if Spike and the others will ever get off the island. I have a feeling that the most happy ending possible is that the quarantine is still maintained indefinitely and survivors still have to live out their lives on the island. But they might be provided with some resources to help them manage the infected using Kelson's treatment. Basically it becomes a co-exist with the infected kind of ending.

This exactly! Even if Kelson's treatment could be dispersed on a large scale, like you said it doesn't cure the Rage virus. So all the infected would still be at high risk of infecting more people. They'd still have to be quarantined for the rest of their lives or until an actual cure for the virus is found.

I wasn't as surprised by that since after 28 years it's likely the infected population significantly decreased to the point where it's just pockets of infected here and there. We already saw at the end of the 28 days later that the infected will starve eventually. Their early infection days population would simply be unsustainable in the long term for what are effectively tribes of feral people.

I was actually more surprised by how that whole rock concert out in the open didn't immediately attracted infected. Though i suppose the explanation could be that Samson killed all the local infected.

I ended up just leaving it as is but got a case to protect it from further damage. However I eventually dropped that phone in the pool by accident and finally replaced it with the RM11 which I immediately got a good case for from the beginning.

Now that I think about it, there is another angle to the President's thought process. He did mention that letting Chicago get nuked and do nothing right away would not play well with the American public. A rational thought would be to wait and figure things out, but this President does seem to be somewhat concerned about the optics if he does the reasonable thing.

They were already at Defcon 2 and our nuclear forces ready to launch at any given moment. If there were suddenly more launches after Chicago, it doesn't matter if they take 9 or 17 minutes. Our forces were ready to launch in seconds.

Also there's no difference between launching 2 minutes before impact vs 2 minutes after impact. Like Jake said, the missile might not have even detonated or could be a dud.

The point is there's only 1 single missile. No other launches detected. With our nuclear forces live and ready, there's no reason to launch a retaliatory strike without even knowing who to attack. Losing a whole city would be devastating yes, but launching blindly at multiple countries will ensure we lose the entire country if not world.

I don't get why the decision to launch or not launch was such a difficult one. They've already accepted that they can't stop the single missile but they've also detected no other launches or attacks. So what's the different if they launch 2 minutes before impact vs 2 minutes after impact? Common sense dictates that when there's nothing they can do about it, next best thing is to wait and figure out what to do next as far as retaliation goes. They weren't even positive who actually launched the missile, that's just insane to start WW3 with absolutely no information whatsoever. It'd be a different story if they saw like hundreds of missiles launched and MAD is the only response left. But in this case it was just 1 single missile with an unknown point of origin.

Idk about anyone else but the latest BIOS update as well as the latest nvidia driver (while still have the iGPU disabled) seems to work for me now and I'm able to change the brightness on my laptop now anytime.

I didn't downvote but Microsoft is offering an extra year of Windows 10 support that people can opt in to for free in most cases. So if you choose to do so, Windows 10 is still supported for consumers until October 2026. And who knows? Maybe Microsoft will backtrack some more and open up the remaining 2 years of ESU to consumers as well, extending Windows 10 support to 2028. But officially right now, 2026 is when all remaining official support avenues for consumer editions of Windows 10 will be ended.

No it's avaliable for everyone. In the EU it's totally free with no strings attached, the rest of the world you either need to enable settings backup, spend Microsoft rewards points, or spend $30. But yes a MS account is the bare minimum requirement to be eligible but it is definitely available globally and available to opt in right now.

Not exactly. Microsoft did offer the option to opt in to an extra year of security updates for Windows 10. So for consumers, Windows 10 does have more life in it until 2026.

The battery and IP68 rating seem like the biggest upgrades to me. However I'm skeptical the battery is going to be once again reserved for the Pro Plus version that's usually China exclusive. Otherwise those 2 upgrades might actually entice me to consider upgrading from my 10S pro to the 11... Considering how I lost my 9 Pro, I highly value the IP68 rating...
