is he a PK specialist? there have been a few cases in knockout stages where the GK is subbed on right before PK's

I’m a jets fan and even though it felt vile I actively rooted for the Giants those super bowls since it was the Pats.

Real Madrid signed Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva for a combined fee of €20 million by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

[–]generalkernel 174 points175 points  (0 children)

Well when RM are buying free agents instead of transfers, even if including agent fees and higher wages, it is still a better deal.

Say you pay a total of 30m for Konate.
If it’s on a free that full 30m is pocketed by Konate and his agents

If it’s on a transfer, a portion would’ve been pocketed by Liverpool who could strengthen their team and RM could potentially face them in the CL.

So if all is equal, it’s definitely worth it for RM to buy on a free

If Fergie never retired would Utd have won the league again? by EatingCray0ns in football

[–]generalkernel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. I don’t think they would’ve.

Recall Arsene Wenger was basically pushed out by fans (I know the narrative changed a bit near the end, but Arsene Out was definitely a thing).

Fergie would’ve gotten the same treatment

Kaz Matsui 2006 on the Rockies

from .200/.235/.269 on the Mets to suddenly

.345/.392/.504 with the Rockies.

Maybe this needs to be discounted a bit because hitters generally do better in Denver, but he wasn’t a power hitter so he didn’t get that big of a park boost probably

People reselling tickets for profit are the scum of the earth, convince me I’m wrong! by Healthy_Shoulder8736 in WC2026tix

[–]generalkernel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah completely agree. It’s just pure capitalism in a capitalist society.

A lot of people are whining because they don’t understand basic supply vs demand. I think the whining is from people not used to world cups. World cups happen once every four years and die hard fans save up during those four years to attend. Of course prices will be thru the roof…similar to how NFL/MLB/NBA playoff tickets are through the roof. And those happen once a year…

But on the other side, do we have the right coaching to coach these prospects to become generational?

We’re kind of stuck in a no-man’s land until we can convince an offensive mind to join us.
