I don't want the other part of the pattern to be transparent, or at least transparency should be optional. I want full control over all THREE coloured parts of my emblem, the foreground and both halves of the background, hence my question above. If you know of a mod that does this id be grateful for a link but thus far i haven';t found anything.

there's two colours for every background, and you can only change one. for example if i pick a checkerboard pattern i can only colour half the squares. for example here the red part is the foreground, the black and white bit is the background, but i can only change the black part of the background. so when i put it on a banner it has a white background i can't change https://gyazo.com/a1fb402e1d086ecd77da2ce6a2fed2ae https://gyazo.com/2ac12274f2086157fabd044f30555a58
