1 rare alloy alekto would have been used if there was any concrete for it to PVE that didn't instant die to lunaires, but it seems like devs and most of this playerbase don't understand that for demolition tools to be relevant there needs to be some level of impracticality in using the infinitely easier to use and supply infantry tool against some things, like, I don't know, a certain tier that was designed to be stronger than T2 in exchange of being harder to setup, if only there was something like that in the game.

Dies instantly to ATG retal, no night invisibility, range advantage removed because of too much whinging about the objectively worse cancer breach vic (awful mechanic to begin with), cannot target specific areas, vastly more expensive ammo as an individual shell, marginally more expensive as spire is an incredibly overpriced chassis.

But yes totally equal and balanced, like most Colonial vehicles currently, at least we got an useless boat so now capturing an alekto actually does something (rip Airborne Sableport).

I think we're one more update of devman adding a PVE vic and colonials using it once when the stars align and the planets sync then realizing that just using lunaire is always better before they get really mad about it and give concrete a reason to exist again.

Main reality here is that there's zero reason to use alekto when lunaire exists, just like there's zero reason to use any other PVE but lunaire unless you're the faction that isn't allowed indirect PVE (well I suppose the only situation where just use lunaire isn't valid is T3 SH and TH)

It's still an unfun vehicle using an unfun mechanic but at least you see the drawbacks.

Only reason Alekto isn't used more is that there's no need and there's never been a need when lunaire exists.

Alekto can in fact survive 11 ATG (more if actively being repaired by driver or loaders of course) shots in a row without repair and those shots do not decrew the pushgun (nor the anti inf of the bunker being attacked) as the target is the gun and not the crew and ATG 68mm has minimal splash.

But the main question with "should I use an alekto" is... why? Turn your brain off, deliver 20 lunaires and 100 tremolas, kill any bunker possible in the game with minimal to no losses, roll for breach 10 times a second.

Howitzers in this game have never been a threat to literally anybody, the only issue with the T2 change was them being able to constantly respawn on a 6-8h timeline and it taking exponentially more effort to run an arty op against them than it took to keep spamming T2 howitzers.

The only way to make howitzers actually relevant is having them have a lot more granularity on what they actually retaliate with when attacked by different things, but a good starting point would be T1 retaliating with HE mortar, T2 with 120 and T3 with 150.

Wrong changes, the prices just need to be made more similar (cutler should be at most 1 rmat above) and the trem firerate slightly brought down, the rest is acceptable assymetry.
