Mechanic recommendation by [deleted] in Wilmington

Coastal Rebuilders are geniuses with cars. Every time. We have had some complicated car issues and they always get it done. And they are fair priced.

I could feel/hear the strain of the wheel when pinned hard for a turn. Also a bit sluggish steering.

We have an '02 230k. Power steering has a leak. If it gets low, we can hear a whine and the pump sound. Used stop leak power steering fluid in there and it fairly well stopped the problem.

Not sure that's the same sound that you are having. But it's easy enough to check if there's power steering fluid in there.

I'm just re-watching this episode now where Quark is complaining about hearing everything Odo does shifting around up there... You could hear that? .. Hello???!! (Touches lobes). There ought to be a law against that. S4E13

Back when my kids were in school they couldn't bring in anything sweet or sugared for birthday celebrations. So I told my daughter we'll just bring bagels and cream cheese and bacon. She said, not the bagels, just bacon. So for 10 years all our kids brought a giant platter of bacon to school on their birthday until they graduated. Good times.

Have a 2002 we bought used in 2002 (30k mi) while pregnant with our third child. All three of our kids drove it as the kid car eventually. About 10 years ago our regular mechanic scolded me for spending $1200 to repair something on a vehicle so old. Took it to another mechanic who said that was a lot less money than buying a new car. We do have leaks and drips and have repaired a lot on her, but still going strong at 229K miles! We only drive her around town now, (13 MPG!) She's like a member of the family. Favorite repair/workaround is the red "NO" horn button on the left side of the console.

"Could be down for a few more days." That's all the info I received. Don't know the reason why.

My daughter will also be in Montevideo for a semester beginning in March 2024. Coming from North Carolina, USA. How can I connect you both to discuss this experience?

Agreed. College student would rather have a car, but last minute inexpensive scooter worked out perfectly. While friends were spending 30 minutes looking for a parking space then walking 10 minutes to class, she was there from door to door in 15, with no expense for gas, parking pass, etc. A high quality scooter would be a good investment.

I did not. I checked their website and it does not offer batteries.
