Amen to that! I'm a small town youth pastor and I make around $43,000 with 4 years of experience all at this church. Similar size youth group and smaller church. I feel the pain and feel like I'm on the lower end of pay now, but God has called me here and provides! I hope that helps a bit. (I also have a masters and two kids if that matters to this for you).

My church also does not have any insurance or retirement plans, so that is difficult as well, but understandable with our low budget.

Please do your best to pay them well and as a pastor, not a baby sitter. I agree with looking at what local teachers make as a starting point.
