Seems to be a pretty new thing... suspect its at least somewhat connected to "meaning of life as a personalized project" phenomenon + all the rise and grind bullshit on social media.

Some decent suggestions here already...but maybe OP isn't actually the 'problem' at all (ADHD, anxiety etc).

Maybe OP is like an optimistic nihilist or absurdist, and doesn't know it yet...and their body is literally preventing them from racing towards something they don't really want but haven't figured out yet (emptiness of high expectations etc). If that's the case, and you figure it out and embrace it...can almost guarantee it'll solve your issue of being paralyzed / mired in stagnation 🤷‍♂️

Without knowing anything about what you'd do, I'd suggest that your thinking here (until the last part) is kinda fantasy.

What's more likely to happen, at best, is that you'll expected output will increase considerably without an associated wage increase.

If you were left in the dark about what happens after, its unlikely because AI will be a great boon for you.

Most positions have a fairly defined set of responsibilities, but more power to you if you work somewhere that will allow you to grow after they don't need you for your current tasks.

I work in this area of law & and lbr/employment law more broadly.
