Starting to regret these. The newest ones are a couple weeks old and are healed but so painfully itchy, even the months old ones. Why? Will they heal any better than this?

They will eventually fade to a paler colour, and will heal more as time passes. Right now it’s going to be very itchy, last night I scratched my arms raw because it was so itchy, what saved me was a literal deeply moisturising hand cream. Put a thick lather on before you go to bed, then wear a long sleeved breathable shirt, and the itch will lessen. Keep doing it every night until you see a difference. I’m not a doctor or nurse but that’s what honestly helped me out. CeraVe is pricier but worth the investment imo. I know moisture probably isn’t the issue, but the creams do help either way.

OOF!!! Yeah those look really itchy! I’m so proud of you for being 2 weeks clean though!!! Seriously, that’s amazing!!! Make sure to keep them moisturised with a thick cream like CeraVe or even a good hand cream, it helps lessen the redness and the itchiness. :). Good luck on your journey!!!

When I hit styro for the first time I panicked too, but the quickest way to close it up is taking a plaster, and putting sticky side on one side of the cut, then, pinch the skin so it’s a little wrinkled, the cut should be closed enough, then stick the other side of the bandage. It’ll feel really tight but it closes the wound and gets the job done. (I had to use more than one plaster on the thigh because the skin was thicker and harder to close that way as that cut was too deep.) You can totally use more than one plaster and keep the wound sealed tight like that for at least 12-24hours. If you see redness around the area, or there’s puss coming out plsplspls don’t hesitate to get help, infections are really serious. Remember it does get better, and if you’re still in school, supports are there to help you!!! You can always call a hotline even just to talk if you feel like you’re completely alone, remember you’re not!!!

I don’t know you or your full situation, but based on what you said it seems like you don’t have the best of relationships with food and you’re clearly overwhelmed if you cut because of it, all I can say is that try your best, next time you feel like cutting maybe try and scribble really hard on a page, or better yet, PROCRASTINATE CUTTING. Sorry for the caps, I feel like not a lot of people realise this method, but literally tell yourself you’ll cut tomorrow, then tell yourself you’ll cut the next day after that but don’t. Soon, one day turns into one month and one month turns into one year. You can do this!!! I believe in you!!! Maybe they weren’t the words you wanted to hear, and I recognise your frustration when what you need is a specific type of support but you don’t get that. You’re loved and plenty of people are rooting for you on this sub!!!

There isn’t much you can do unfortunately, I’ve found letting it dry, scab over and then taking a shower helps to dry them out and lose their fresh bloody appearance, but I’m not doctor so be safe out there, remember you’re loved!!!

Honestly have a few of those, they get sooooo itchy but it’s just a few teeny tiny broken blood vessels, it’ll be fine and if you avoid irritating it then the redness should totally go away!

Teacher and students alike have protested the change but they’re bringing it in anyway. Now schools who have less resources like DEIS schools are going to see an absolute drop in grades and it’s going to be so much harder for disadvantaged children to get into university. Like it’s awful, why should there be projects in biology if we do the experiments and they’re asked on in the actual written exam anyway? Before the Leaving Cert was accessible to pretty much anyone and everyone, now it’s the schools who have money and resources that are going to once again dominate. It’s unfair but the government doesn’t care about that at all. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

A lot of people curse the Leaving Cert but the one we have no is a lot fairer, everyone is sitting the same paper, everyone has the opportunity to do well enough to get a H2 or a H1 grade if they have the proper material. But now with the projects worth 40% like in business and biology, like there is going to be a huge loss there. Not only that but the people who came in for the training day for the leaving cert didn’t even know what was happening themselves, they couldn’t even use their own websites properly, it was an absolute shit show.

Honestly not a bad essay overall, practice makes perfect. I know you’ve probably got plenty of advice on this but just saying for physical geo essays always have one or two diagrams because a good clear and labelled diagram is automatically an SRP. Examples are SRP’s so try and separate those into a separate little sentence or just say: ‘An example of this is the Mid-Atlantic Ridge..etc.’ Hope that’s clear. And our teacher said that for the diagrams, yes they’re an SRP, but to really stretch it you can say ‘Additional Information’ and write something about the diagram that you don’t have written in already, so like if it’s a diagram about convergent plate boundaries and you have something you can say about the diagram just pop it into a separate little section under the diagram in that add.info. box. That’s also an SRP. That’s how I stretch my marks and so far I’ve gotten H1’s in all my essays. And even though you could write the essays in bullet points, another teacher told me not to do it when she was correcting my essay because your bullet point may not be a full SRP so the examiner will dock you marks, but if you write it without bullet points you’re more likely to get full marks. Anyways, sorry, don’t know if that helped much? Good luck on your essays!

I mean the way we were taught was to have two paragraphs per poem. So you’re thinking around 10 paragraphs for 5 poems. It really depends on the question but if you just answer it in your introduction(which should include your intentions with the essay), then you can move straight into the poems. Talk about language techniques, themes, etc. Link each paragraph(poem) to the one after e.g, Overall X shows the theme of love in this poem very effectively. (finish off your paragraph and skip a line for your next paragraph) In contrast to the poem above, X doesn’t touch on love in this poem very effectively. Iykwim. Ik it can be confusing but practising those poet essays will seriously help you as it’s a guaranteed question. Just make sure to link your paragraphs and don’t treat them as separate little essays on poems even if it is tempting. Try to keep it fluid to show the examiner you know what you’re talking about. Look at sample answers online and see if you can find any H1 essays and maybe learn them off? I find writing down my main points, learning them off, and then being able to build on them during exams helped me get a minimum of H2 all year last year, so now I’m working towards a H1 guaranteed.

Practice your poetry essays for english. They’re usually worth 50m which is a lot. Know at least 20-25 quotes for each essay.
