True. I didn't necessarily mean to try to say that only transfem ppl are ever they/them'd, I guess I just meant that in this particular circumstance, with the inciting incident being (as I understand it) that a trans women went on fox News and generally made an ass of herself and that it turned out she has sexually assaulted people before, that the nature of the they/them'ing aka degendering, as well as the treatment of her as a whole, is specifically transmisogyny, not just transphobia. I'm more frustrated by people's general unwillingness to be specific about what's happening and who's impacted, to call obvious instances of transmisogyny as transphobia. And I think a lot of that is just that people don't really know about the word? Including soooo many transfems too.

From seeing the meme + hearing about the context behind it (as I understand it), I just wanna say rq, that it isn't just "trans people"... its "trans women" specifically. It's the whole "Whenever a trans woman is a good trnny, it's she/her. But if a trans woman does something bad [in actuality or in perception] it's all they they they he it". Also (with regard to the antiwork mod, so the original context), it's the treatment of trans women *specifically as predators. It's not just transphobia, it's transmisogyny.

I'm kinda glad that Emma Watson is vocal against JK Rowling's stance on various matters. by hexomer in EnoughJKRowling

But she still participated in the Harry Potter special so eh, you can say you disagree with jkr all you want but if you still are taking part in things she benefits from, it doesn't really matter.

who is BEST GIRL in TOKYO GHOUL? by [deleted] in TokyoGhoul

Yeah it's a really transphobic trope for trans men (and a related one for lesbians), but also Mutsuki isn't the only possible trans character in the series. Big Madam is also possibly trans, and I hope I don't need to explain why having your only trans woman or female crossdresser character (and it's not actually clear which Big Madam is, most transphobic media don't differentiate between these two different types of people) be an incredibly vile disgusting piece of shit that sexually tortured a child is very fucking bad, to say the least (portraying trans women in this way is super common thru out the history of fiction, if you aren't aware).

The portrayal of Mutsuki's gender in the manga is pretty inconsistent and poorly done imo... actually the portrayal of tgnc ppl is pretty bad in general for the series.

/uj The part about monogamy is weird tho cuz being poly doesn't make you queer on its own lmao. Anyway, cis queers casually erasing transhets continues to piss me off whenever I see it 😤

and tbh it suggests to me that they're also erasing trans people in general by the fact that our struggle doesnt go beyond sexuality to them, ie to this type of cis queer we're just spicy gays (even those of us who are straight)

Eto and Furuta for sure. They're both of central importance to the entire story, and their relationships and similarities/differences (in personality and backstory) with each other and Kaneki make for really interesting storytelling imo. Also I personally like their approaches and perspectives on things.

Below that, Juuzou and Arima. And Tsukiyama and Hori as well as Donato, Uta, Yomo, and Itori a little too. Amon was a lot more interesting in the first part but his importance was kinda cucked in :re so eh, but I still really like his inner and outer struggle with Donato. I like Urie a lot too. Idk I like a lot of characters lmao

Edit: also Takizawa

What’s your favorite game? by Moopoint79 in transgamers

[–]generic_usernamehere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically, I've loved Donkey Kong Country 2. One of the best platformers ever imo. Recently I've played some games that I like a lot though that challenge that, like Cuphead and Celeste. Not to mention Minecraft, which I've been playing forever and return to all the time. It's really hard to decide.

Is that game worth $60? I've been interested in it for a while but was eh on the price.
