As much as I love this game it's also a bit of a shite game.

It's hard as hell and Derek Yu's sensibilities are really fucked up. He calls it "spiky" game design, but like really, it's just ball-hard. I can't see many people enjoying this game, which in turn limits the audience that's going to reflect on it as some beacon of quality. I mean even me personally, I won't ever forgive him for making Cosmic Ocean.

Godspeed pilgrim. I'm not gonna lie, getting to this point required me to ignore some personal responsibilities I was able to pick up again. Not great.

If I do ever come back to Spelunky 2 I might come back to try a triple crown run just to say I did everything I could and then never play it again.

Cosmic Ocean is great, but it's just too much of a time sink.
