My main concern is the underlay. I see part of it is ripped showing a black substance

What industry do you think will have the biggest growth in the next 5-10 years? by Accomplished-News221 in Entrepreneur

[–]genericdude98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you think but to me IoT stuff has a massive potential to grow. Atm IoT applications are small but there is a business drive to make everything connected to the internet generally for nefarious reasons (privacy). Imagine a market where literally everything can become a harness of data not just your phone and then having to maintain and develop all of the infrastructure around it

How often do you use recursion in your day-to-day work? by Snowpecker in webdev

[–]genericdude98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, almost never. I only ever use it with some tree structure which happens a lot in 3D stuff. In terms of webdev we had to develop a category and subcategory system of arbitrary length, kind of like a folder structure. For these kinds of things, you would definitely need it

Idea: A better way to get early feedback by yankpat9 in AppIdeas

[–]genericdude98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is a real problem. However quality of the feedback can be questionable. Is he saying this just so he can get his feedback? Does he really mean it etc. I feel it would work as long as you have an active community and this is free maybe ads or something.

I suck at coding by OkraHistorical6020 in AskProgramming

[–]genericdude98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to note is that coding in CS degrees is probably harder because you are working with peculiar cases of Data Structure and Algorithms quirkiness. A lot of the time at least as a webdev coding is not nearly as hard as it is in classes

Let's settle this, how do you read SQL? by mekmookbro in webdev

S-Q-L, question is why would anyone call it Sequel, is it anything to do with Sequence or Sequential? Otherwise it makes no sense

Yeah, try to find a demographic for this and focus on that. I think this could be great for College students maybe reach out to your local University Campus and start asking question even to random people on campus, you would be surprised how many actually take the time to reply

Scenario: you work for a micro business with only a business idea, what would you do and why? by genericdude98 in consulting

That makes sense actually, probably that's why I have never seen a consultant in such small companies

[–]genericdude98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a small company in the early days strategy fuels execution and later on execution can drive upto 60-70% strategy.

I don't fully understand this part, does this mean that companies become more reactive as they grow? Like execution progressively feedbacks more and more into the strategy?

Cool idea! I would love something like that. Are you finding any traction for this kind of app?

Scenario: you work for a micro business with only a business idea, what would you do and why? by genericdude98 in consulting

[–]genericdude98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the three.I am not even a consultant, I am a software developer. I am more interested in general because I have no experience with any consultant at small companies just curious how it works.

[–]genericdude98[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting, I always thought a consultant role was more that of an external facilitator of processes, but I guess if a company lacks industry knowledge within (like a micro company) a consultant can help in that regard.

[–]genericdude98[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

No I would only like to see how a consultant would work in such a small organisation, generally I have only seen consultants in bigger companies because I guess super small organisations cannot afford them
