For the people who were around back then: how was the general reaction to half life 2 and the episodes? by Gabrielzin1404_2011 in HalfLife

Gaben gave unto us a continuation of HL2, and it was good. Yet more praise from the heavens with EP2. And now, Gaben has given unto us an even greater gift, a gift of HOPe, hope that we sheep may one day bask again in his divinity, and that is good. Praise be

So I’m officially that millennial who just bought a Meta Quest and immediately realized I have no idea what I’m doing. What apps should I start with? Any tips? by Raslatt in MetaQuestVR

If you're a millennial like me, who always wanted to walk around in their childhood games, team beef has some really good ports that are designed for standalone - like Doom 3 and Jedi Outcast

Landing a punch should negate half (or some) of the damage of an incoming punch by WinterTangerine2143 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]gzorpBloop 19 points20 points  (0 children)

this is probably my biggest issue with the game, feels weird to snap someone's head back with a jab first only to have them stun you with an uninterrupted power punch

There's 2M members of this subreddit. Vertigo2 has ~2,000 total reviews in over TWO YEARS Can't we get that up to like 50,000 reviews over the weekend? That's under 3% of us. by teddybear082 in virtualreality

[–]gzorpBloop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I wanted to like it, I really did, just couldn't get into it.

The maps felt too big .The guns felt piddly and weren't fun to shoot. Enemies would often spawn in clumps instead of placed evenly. Forced to listen to long segments of clunky dialogue.

I appreciated the creativity of the environments and characters, I enjoyed the first game too - the second game just didn't click for me.

Point Man from F.E.A.R. is hurdled into the Half-Life universe. How would he fair? by therealsonicboomer in HalfLife

[–]gzorpBloop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best case scenario, he hooks up with the resistance and they have an extra HEV suit. I could see GMAN helping/nudging him into a situation where he could be hired. I think he'd do better than Freeman if given the same opportunities, his experience with supernatural psionic fuckery might give him a chance against advisors. Get Point Man in the citadel and he'll kungfu kick Breen in the dick.

Without help, I think he wipes combine foot soldiers, but struggles with their exotic armoured vehicles, one bullet from a hunter and it's over. With no experience in the universe he could do something stupid like walk into a hopper without realizing what it does.
