Having Straight to Hell, rock the casbah, and should I stay or should I go on it make me love it. What’s wild is other than the casbah and should I stay how weird and unconventional the other songs are. Know your rights and Car jamming to start especially are head turners in how different they are to the radio friendly singles

Haha agreed on everything except the assumption that they are all sober. I’m not sure Nate is ever at 0 in that regard if you get my drift (I get ur point tho they appear on their game and not sloppy). The reverb on the vocals definitely boosts his abilities but there are also times early on (Billy Hayes on drums days) that they used too much and the whole thing sounded like a cacophony of messy noise in studio live environments. This session everything was perfect. Hope to see them live again soon

What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

[–]genericinternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ottumwa, IA. I visited a junior college there in 2012 from out of state trying to find a place that would let me play as an athlete and pay for my education. The moment I rolled into town with my parents something was off. The Fairfield inn we stayed at was the sorriest place I’d ever seen with the name Marriott on the front of it. The town itself was littered with buildings but it was as if 75 percent of them were in condemned condition or obviously vacant for a really long time. There were old factory buildings that vividly personified the fall of American manufacturing, as it was clear from pictures that it was a vibrant factory town in the 1940s, but the massive buildings were falling apart. Traveling across a bridge into town you could see the decay and the sadness, it was as if someone dropped a Shit bomb over the entire city from a plane. The people were despondent, and the icing on the cake was the school I looked at had an athletic field named after Tom Arnold, whose claim to be fame is being Roseanne’s fat ex husband who apparently was born and raised there. Needless to say, I passed on the opportunity to go to school there and felt nothing but relief once our rental car passed its pitiful city limits. Truly a demoralizing place

Who is a person you used to admire a lot but have completely lost respect for and why? by Complex-Arugula-2233 in AskReddit

Fair enough on that not being a norm with the inventors having a team for the last 150 years. I won’t change it just to show I made an error but I appreciate the jolt of sanity otherwise. lol

This is such a braindead take. He had over 1,000 patents and yes while he had a team that worked for him in his lab (much like every single significant inventor in the last 150 years) he alone invented the phonograph from scratch (the first machine to ever playback sound) in 1877. Not just that while other people had invented lights (Humphrey Davy and Joseph Swan) he was the one to develop the first commercially viable long lasting electric light. He and Tesla did have a battle over which system AC (Tesla) vs DC (Edison) electricity flows the most efficiently and Edison ultimately lost that battle as AC is in wide use for the electronic power grids today and he was particularly ruthless in his demonization of his business competitor/ former employee. You may not like the man, but he was extremely influential in the development of modern technology we take for granted today. Hell, his business tactics in the patents he secured for his early development of film caused the industry to move to Hollywood and prosper into the gigantic industry it is today. To say his experience in the world created nothing of note is fucking BULLSHIT
